Reviews
Very professional, organised, and patient.
Naturally when booking directly from the UK with an Ugandan company that we'd found on the internet, there is an air of nervousness. However, Ernest 'the fixer' could not have been any more reassuring, patient and helpful to tweak our trip to keep meeting our endless list of questions and demands. He was never pushy and happy to send tourism registration certificates and any other info we asked for. His responses to our very many questions were extremely prompt, whatever the time of day or night. The 10 day Rwanda Uganda exploration trip was wonderfully put together and, we thought exceptional value for money, as it included all food, all park entries, boat trips and trekking permits, not to mention a private Toyato Landcriuser and our superb driver/guide Kasim. We did however add an extra night at the start to refresh from out overnight flights from London and an extra night at the end to recover, which we would thoroughly advise. The last day is quite a rush to do the Volcanoes trek, genocide museum and then make it to the airport. Again Ernest came up trumps with recommendations, which we actually booked directly ourselves - M Hotel Kigali on the way back, which was a great high standard hotel at just $85 BnB. As for the trip itself, Kasim could not have been more professional, patient, with superb English, and a great sense of humour too. His knowledge of animals, birds (including calls), plants, local culture, food was just amazing. He was extremely flexible and seemed to have endless energy to make our holiday as great an experience a he could possibly achieve. He truly was a lovely chap. Uganda is an amazing country, with stunning wildlife and lots of close up experiences, notably the Rhino and especially the Gorillas. I have travelled quite a lot and also a fair amount in Africa, and I must admit I have not felt safer anywhere else in Africa, than I did in Uganda and Rwanda. We went mid range and the accommodation, which ranged from very nice to stunning. All had extremely large, very comfy beds with sturdy mozzy nets, except at altitude where they weren't needed (not that we really had an issue with seeing any mozzzys). Just to note we never had any air con, but quite frankly it cooled off quite nicely at night and wasn't really required. I am very pleased we could support the Ugandan tourist industry and especially Wild Uganda and can't recommend them enough.

Unforgettable trip
We spent 10 days with Wild Uganda. Our guide, Brian, was incredibly kind and attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed and ensuring our stay in Uganda was unforgettable. For example, we didn't see any chimpanzees on our first trek. Brian was the only guide who arranged for us to do it again the next day, at no extra cost, and this time we had the chance to see them. We also wanted to experience the local culture, and he did just that. We had a tailor-made trip and even got to visit a school. It was the best trip of my life, and I highly recommend Wild Uganda to anyone who wants to discover this wonderful country. All I hope is to return someday and that our paths cross again, because I will never forget this amazing experience.

Love Uganda!
This trip was incredibly special to me. I planned it to celebrate my birthday and fulfill my dream of visiting mountain gorillas. Wild Uganda was the company that best suited my needs in terms of time, energy, and budget. Communication was excellent from beginning to end, and throughout the trip, they were attentive to detail and ready to resolve any unforeseen issues. Uganda is a beautiful country with so much to offer, incredibly warm people, and places that seem like a dream. I definitely recommend Uganda and Wild Uganda for exploring this amazing country! Thanks for everything.

Excellent!
It was an unforgettable trip with wonderful experiences in Uganda. Wild Uganda's tour organization was precise and excellent. Our tour guide Ricky was a very well-prepared, professional, kind, attentive, polite, patient and humorous young man. In addition to all this, he was an excellent driver. The fact that our trip to Uganda was such a fantastic success is largely thanks to him. We can only recommend Wild Uganda and Ricky Hillary as a tour guide to everyone!

An exceptional tour operator that made our trip feel effortless, authentic, and truly unforgettable
I’m really grateful for the organisation of this trip, which was arranged at just a couple of weeks’ notice. Ernest always replied very quickly and provided us with all the necessary information; he was extremely flexible in tailoring the trip to our preferences and made sure everything went smoothly.
Our guide, Kasim, was a highlight of the trip; we learnt so much from him about the culture, traditions and wildlife. He made sure we were comfortable at all times and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience.
It’s an experience we’d 100% recommend, and we’re absolutely certain it wouldn’t have been the same without them.

9-Day Uganda Round Trip – An Unforgettable Experience
We did an 9-day round trip through Uganda as a couple and can absolutely recommend it. From the organization to the experiences on site, everything was very well arranged – a trip that will stay in our memories for a long time.
Booking & Organization
Booking was very easy via WhatsApp. Questions were answered quickly, the payment process was simple and transparent, and individual requests were always considered. The packing list we received beforehand was especially helpful. The Instagram account also gave us a great first impression and really built up the anticipation before the trip.
Accommodation
The accommodations were mostly located in the middle of nature and often offered beautiful views. Everywhere we went, we were welcomed very warmly by friendly and open staff, which made us feel welcome in the country right away. From a shower under the open sky to dinner with a view of elephants – every place had its own special charm.
Safaris & Activities
Uganda is incredibly diverse in terms of landscapes – from mountains to wide grasslands. The wildlife is just as impressive: wherever you look, there is something new to discover. What we especially appreciated was the respectful approach to nature and wildlife during all activities. The photos we attached to the review were all taken by us during the trip.
* Boat safari: hippos, crocodiles, and elephants up close
* Walking safari: getting very close to giraffes and zebras
*Game drives: amazing wildlife sightings, including the Big Five and many baby animals
* Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking: a truly unique experience that we will never forget
Food
The food was consistently very good and varied. Vegetarian options were easily available, and there was always plenty to eat – we definitely never went hungry.
Transfers
The drives were an important part of the experience because they allowed us to see a lot of the country, the landscapes, and everyday life. With good music and interesting conversations, the journeys never felt boring.
Our Guide
A very special thanks goes to our guide Derrick! He was humorous, extremely reliable, and at the same time very open and warm. We felt safe with him at all times. Derrick and the agency were reachable at any time. He always considered our individual wishes and put a lot of effort into making the experience special for us. Thanks to his experience and great connections, we were able to spot many animals that we might otherwise have missed. He also knows his country and culture very well and shared a lot of authentic insights along the way. His practical tips – for example bringing a walking stick or gloves for the trekking – were also very helpful.
Our sincere recommendation for future travelers: ask for Derick as your guide when booking.
Conclusion
This trip was very well organized and full of memorable encounters with people, nature, and wildlife. One of the most impressive travel experiences we have had, and something we can clearly recommend to anyone who wants to experience Uganda in a deeper way.

From Nile falls to Gorilla encounters: Uganda has it all!
Our journey through Uganda was one we will never forget. We traveled as a Dutch family with three children (17, 18, and 20) and did the 11-day safari. Uganda turned out to be a perfect destination for all of us.
For those going on safari for the first time, the Serengeti in Tanzania may still be the most obvious choice due to the huge numbers of wildlife and the famous migrations. But for those who have already experienced a safari, Uganda offers an unmatched diversity that makes traveling to this country so special.
From day one, we were immersed in a varied program that kept surprising us. We explored Lake Victoria, admired the impressive waterfalls of the Nile, and went on both jeep-, boat- and walking safaris, where we literally walked among rhinos, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, and warthogs. On Lake Victoria, we searched for the prehistoric shoebill stork. Along the banks of the Nile, we saw countless hippos and crocodiles while elephants came to drink and during this boat safari we were taken to the immense Nile waterfalls, an unforgettable and breathtaking sight. The rich birdlife made a impression on us every single day.
During our visit to Murchison Falls National Park, where nature and wildlife come together beautifully, we saw the big five. Further south, we ventured into the rainforest for chimpanzee tracking and visited local coffee farmers and a vanilla plantation, where we learned more about the production process. We stayed in beautiful lodges, often built from wood with thatched roofs, idyllically located in the heart of nature. The service everywhere was excellent, and the meals were delicious: fresh, locally sourced products, carefully prepared.
The absolute highlight of the trip was the gorilla tracking. Accompanied by a ranger, we trekked into the rainforest and found no fewer than three gorilla families. We were allowed to spend an hour with one family—an experience that is hard to put into words. We stood face to face with the silverback, the female gorillas, and a playful baby gorilla.
What made our trip unforgettable was our guide, Allanie from Wild Uganda. From the moment he picked us up in the Toyota Land Cruiser until the final day—when he showed us Kampala and we ended with a dinner by the shores of Lake Victoria in Entebbe—everything felt perfectly arranged. His knowledge of the country, its culture, and its wildlife was impressive, and his enthusiasm was contagious. Thanks to him, we got to know Uganda in a wonderful way. Once again, our heartfelt thanks for that @Allanie!
The organization through Wild Uganda was excellent: everything was spot on, from the planning to the accommodations (thank you @Ernest). Uganda has captured our hearts, and as our safari guide Allanie said, we have only seen a small part of it. More than enough reason to return!

10 days itinerary between Rwanda and Uganda
We booked with Wild Uganda our 10 days trip between Rwanda and Uganda and it was exceptional!
Overall it was an incredible experience, definitely worth the money ie we would have not thought you were getting so many boat trips, game drives and amazing lodges even on a mid budget. Would definitely recommend to travel during rainy season everything is green and the rain goes away very quickly while temperatures are still bearable. We barely got rain during our trip in April 2026.
We are really thankful to Brian - our guide - as he is very knowledgeable and could always help us spot great animals as well as being very easy to hang around.
Would absolutely recommend to book a trip with Wild Uganda and Brian as they really gave us the best deal!
Full itinerary below:
We started off in Kigali where Brian picked us up at the hotel and showed us the city - including the Market - before moving to the Volcano National Park and see Golden Monkeys (c. 1h easy flatish hike 1800 m above see level)
After that we moved to Uganda and went to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where we stayed at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge (highly recommended lodge with a unique view on the national park). The following day we met the gorillas after a 1h hike, just above 5 km in total and easier than expected as all gorilla families were quite close the base camp that day. After meeting these incredible animals we drove to Lake Bunyonyi - really cool go with the boat around the lake and get to know the local history. Here you could also teach kids how to swim as most can’t swim and swimmers are very welcome to spend a day with the kids! We stayed on an island at Itambira Island, Seeds of Hope (another extremely nice stay organised by Wild Uganda !!). The following day we move to Queen Elisabeth NP where we immediately did a game drive in the safari and thanks to Brian skills we saw our first Leopards. During the night elephants came in from of our lodge which felt it very special! We spent another day doing game drives, boat tours and managed to see the big 4 (no rhinos yet). Following day we went to see chimps (easy hike, c. 2h total 4k) , which got very close to us after more than 1h waiting and looking at them on the trees. Following day was a transition day where we managed to meet a coffee master which made coffee with us and a meal with a beautiful landscape (pic) and stayed at Irungu Forest Safari Lodge for the night (insane view of the valley).
We then arrived at Murchison Fall NP, saw the falls, more boat tours, did 3 game drives saw more leopards, 5 lions and lot of giraffes.
We kept rolling and ended up at the Rhino sanctuary were saw the last of the big 5 :)
They also got very close to our lodge and one fell asleep 10 meets from it (!). We also saw 20 zebras (c. 90% of the zebras in this park). The day after we went to Lake Victoria and tried to see if we could find the shoebill - unfortunately for us it kept flying every time we were getting close to it but still managed to get beautiful pictures of it!
Note, we travelled as a family of 5 (4 swedish and 1 Italian)
Fell free to contact us if you want more info about our trip

Try it and you'll have an amazing experience
I had some doubt at the beginning as I book myself and not through agencies... The most beautiful surprise sine the beginning in submitting me the safary trip tour, changing and adapting it due to my request of modification even during the safary itself.
No complain at all but, simple huge thanking to all the staff from the back office till our magnificent driver James who was not only a driver but a teacher and became a friend.
We visited not a country but a magnificent Pearl in the African continent

An Unforgettable 4-Day Journey with Wild Uganda: Professionalism, Passion and Personal Touch
My four-day journey through Uganda was nothing short of spectacular — a seamless blend of breathtaking landscapes, well-chosen venues, and exceptional hospitality. From the very start, Wild Uganda impressed me with their professionalism and responsiveness. Every enquiry was met with a quick, thoughtful reply, and their guidance during the tour selection process made planning effortless.
The itinerary itself was brilliantly crafted, balancing adventure, comfort, and authentic experiences. The choice of accommodation and venues reflected both quality and local charm, enhancing every moment of the trip.
A special mention must go to Andrew, my guide and driver, and now a friend, whose dedication and warmth elevated the entire experience. Always going beyond the call of duty, he proved not just a knowledgeable guide but an excellent travel companion, ensuring comfort, information, and entertainment throughout.
Even the occasional minor hiccup — inevitable in any journey — was handled by Wild Uganda with remarkable efficiency and grace. Their calm professionalism ensured the trip remained smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
In every way, Wild Uganda delivered a truly unforgettable experience, showcasing the country’s wonders with expertise, care, and a personal touch that sets them apart. Highly recommended!!!!
