Great wildlife, less crowded than Tanzania, stronger bush vibe than Namibia, great place for safari

I had game drives both in Queen Elizabeth NP and in Murchison Falls NP. At Queen Elizabeth I had good wildlife sightings along the Kazinga Channel and I did a walking safari with a ranger at Ishasha, where I had the chance to see a large school of hippos from quite a short distance. Game drives in Queen Elizabeth NP were extremely good for scenery, maybe I expected more wildlife. Accomodation/food: I always camped; accomodation at Ishasha was extremely basic, as well as the restaurant (food was enough and acceptable anyway). Accomodation and restaurant were better at Mwenya Campsite (still basic, though). Hippos are never far from the campsites!
Murchison Falls NP: great sceneries and game drives, lots of animals, especially giraffes. Navigation to Murchison Falls was definitely good both for sceneries and animal sightings (birding too). Accomodation and food at Red Chili Campsite were good (and the beer cold!).
In both parks we were accompanied in our game drives by rangers,

An extremely good experience overall.

Uganda - the undiscovered beauty

We operate together with the inhabitants of a small village north of Mityana a humanitarian project in Uganda to improve their lives sustainably. In 2009, we have for the first time together with our children (teenagers) Uganda. An absolutely worth experiencing country. In Kampala, as in many cities of other developing countries to feel optimism. In the country however, the time has stopped and the people live largely in poverty and subsistence agriculture. It is striking that all the automotive business of Indians and Pakistanis can be controlled. The chinese start the exploitation of large oil deposits seen in the northwest. therefore, the roads built in the resource-rich regions very well. European hotels are found only in large cities. But who can get along without electricity and warm water does not necessarily need to take a shower, can also opt for an African hotel.

We were there for 3 days upon arrival at the lodge we were greeted by stewards with a cold cloth and frosty beverage. Which was a nice touch after a 7 hr ride through rural Uganda from Kampala. The food here was excellent, we felt like kings. That evening we went for a 2 hr tour into the bush and saw plenty of gazelle's,Baboon's,elephants and giraffe's. I believe our guide's name was Simon, he was very knowledgable and carried arround an assault rifle which gave us a sense of security when nature called, plus a sense of Danger which really said this was a REAL Safari.

The next day we boarded a small boat for 1 1/2 jaunt down the Nile river where we saw Crocodiles, hippo's and even more elephants. Wer also saw many types of birds and monkey's as well, all in all no shortage of interesting things to see. Our guide was very knowledgable and freindly and our tripe ended at Murchison falls where we then turned around to head back. Unparalleled beauty!
Read more That afternoon we went for one more trip into the bush with Simon and saw Lion tracks. Excellent trip and I'd recomend it to anyone.

Stayed here in June/July 2011 during the dry season however due to unnatural weather patterns, we encountered some rain here and there which sometimes affected our itinerary.

I stayed in mid range types of accommodation ranging from bush lodges to tented (luxury) camps. They were a great way to live 'with' the environment and was a great experience.

We used a Ugandan safari company called Kazinga Tours for our stay in Uganda. The vehicle was perfect for the four of us for safari drives and normal travelling. Plenty of room in the van for our luggages and personal space. Highly recommend Hamid if he is available for your trip. He is a 'senior guide' with knowledgable guiding and experience under his belt.

There are plenty of animals to see in Uganda. Many bird species, lions, leopards, elephants, giffafes, zebras, warthogs, antelops, buffalos, gorillas, chimps and many many more!
We also got to experience the Nile River

Would recommend going later in the dry season as the change from wet to dry is still not stable. Maybe around Aug/Sept onwards.

I planned my trip using Safari Bookings and chose Semu Gorilla Safaris and Tours. They were excellent. Be sure to check out what wildlife you would like to see as each National Park is different.

Uganda is truly the pearl of Africa

Named by Winston Churchill himself, Uganda more than earns its legendary nickname. Tucked in the heart of East Africa, it is one of the continent's most rewarding and diverse travel destinations — compact enough to explore thoroughly, yet rich enough to fill a lifetime of adventures. I witnessed this during my Fam trip when I had an Idea of starting a tour and travel company, we visited different destinations like Bwindi for Gorilla trekking, Kibale for chimpanzee trekking, hiked Rwenzori mountains, Murchison falls national park among others, all the Uganda'' people are welcoming from different cultures

Starting in Entebbe we had a pleasant arrival transport organized from the company. It gave us already a hint of upcoming days - the city vibes were interesting to observe. The first location was a lovely hotel very close to the Lake Victoria with lots of beach bar/restaurants. A nice place to be and felt safe walking around the area as two women. Moving from there to Queen Victoria National Park we had the chance to observe so many different wild life and our guide Sam was amazing! We learned so much about all different types of plants, birds and animals. The pace of the safari was exactly what we wished for - enough time to observe, ask questions, discuss and take pictures. The chimpanzee and gorilla trekking was the reason we came to Uganda and it was worth it! Very well organized. The animals were close enough to observe but stayed in distance to feel safe. All credits to the trackers and people allowing for this experience as they check out where the animals are before we start to
Read more hike. We were lucky to not walk a long distance and it took us less than 1 hour to reach the spots where the animals were. But we were told this might be several hours for e.g. the Gorilla trekking - so be aware of this! The 1 hour planed for staying in the bush with the Chimpanzee / Gorilla is satisfying enough. Please include the visiting of the Twin Lakes as this lookout point is very very beautiful.
We had perfect weather conditions with rain during the nights and warm t-Shirt temperature during the day. Mosquito repellent was a must because of the humidity and the amount of mosquitos! All of the accommodations were amazing! They had everything we asked for - even laundry services. Keep in mind it is simple sometimes but the views, the service, the staff and the food were the best ever!
I very much recommend this trip with Nature Connect Safaris Uganda and wish everyone could do this experience once in their life.

We loved the ziwa rhino preserve. It was amazing to be so close to those beautiful animals. We did multiple boat tours on the Nile. And saw different animals each time. I love safaris. We saw many, many elephants giraffes, seven leopards, only a few lions. Our highlight of uganda was the gorilla trekking and the chimpanzee trekking. The small villages Were eye-opening
Of the hardworking people of this country. Our guides made our trip.
Very pleasant and memorable. They did everything they could to please us.
Were very friendly and willing to do extra. So we could have the best at experience. For us, a once in a lifetime adventure.

Firstly, I was a female solo traveller that had never done this type of trip before. I primarily chose Uganda because I wanted to experience and see the mountain gorillas. I did not really know what to expect other than I would see amazing wildlife.

Uganda totally exceeded my expectations… the wildlife was amazing, but the people were so friendly, helpful, engaging and always had a smile. If you smiled, you were sure to get a bigger one back.

The accommodation I stayed in were lodges in the game parks and outside. I chose the medium package and again was so impressed with the accommodation, food and the staff… nothing was too much for them.

I was on an 11 day trip with Kajie Safaris. I chose this company from the reviews I read and also how they replied to my emails so promptly and friendly. I was blown away by the service I received. I had my own driver called Arafat…. who was amazing, so knowledgeable, friendly and as a solo female

I am still on a high from all my experiences and would highly recommend Uganda as a place to visit, enjoy and create amazing memories !
