Amazing tour of Rwanda with resourceful and knowledgeable Guide
We had a fantastic 5 days tour of Rwanda with Golden Rwanda in June 2022. The tour operator was suggested by a long time friend who often travels to Rwanda for business.
We visited the Nyungwe National Park and Volcanoes National Park and on the way we stopped over at Lake Kiwu. We saw primates, had great treks in the rain forest and on Mount Bisoke and enjoyed the beauty of the Rwandan hilly landscape. We really liked all the hotels that we stayed at: the customer service was excellent and the rooms and dining were up to the best standards.
Our guide Annie (one of 5 female guides in the country) was the best ambassador for Rwanda. She is extremely knowledgeable about the nature, geography and history of the country. She could answer all our questions. She also helped us getting the right gear for the treks (we came from a conference and only had urban clothing). More importantly she was extremely friendly and has great humour, which made for a very fun tour and great conversations during the drives.
Frank from Golden Rwanda was very helpful in suggesting the right itinerary for us and very flexible in designing it based on our preferences. He was very quick in responding to our emails which made for an easy planning. He is a perfectionist that strives to provide the best customer experience.
We would definitely recommend Golden Rwanda. Great value for money, the best guide and attention to all details made us love our trip. We cannot wait to be back in Rwanda and have another tour with them!

Meets the appointments and expectations.
Golden Rwanda Safaris communicated clearly and reacted swiftly. Jean Claude picked us up in time and was an enthusiastic driver. He keeps good contact with other drivers to see if there is something special to be seen. We went to Akagera and the only downside is that I would have love to have taken some more time as it felt a bit rushed.
The park is beautiful and we saw some fair amount of game. It might not be spectacular but it is surely a park worth the visit. Bird life is fantastic!
All in all I would recommend Golden Rwanda Safaris and Jean Claude.

Guide Jean Claude Makes Your Safari Extra Special!
Our 3-day, 2-night safari to Akagera National Park was the fulfilment of a bucket wish list item. And our guide, Jean Claude, made the game drives even more exciting. We did a total of 4 game drives including one night drive led by Akagera National Park guide. Worth the money! Golden Rwanda Safari staff have provided us with a positive, memorable experience, were professional and accommodating, and answered our many questions before and after payment. In fact, the process to make payment is very easy and convenient for the user. Jean Claude, who has a degree in travel and tourism, is well-educated on and willingly shares his knowledge on Rwanda and wild game including the many birds and fauna in the national park. He worked hard and did not give up on helping us find elephants in the North on our last drive. Akagera Game Lodge is a top notch hotel which has kept its guests' needs in mind. The front office and F&B staff are all very friendly, helpful and just want to make sure your stay is not just enjoyable, but memorable!

Brilliant
From start of booking process to the final drop off after the trip this was a truly superb experience. Myself and 4 friends were driven by JeanMari who was a truly excellent driver and guide and looked after us all day in Akagera National Park. Saw every animal except lions and plenty of food drinks and rest stops. Very comfortable safari vehicle with opening roof WiFi and charging sockets. Very comfortable. Truly an amazing day. Highly recommend this safari company to anyone. Loved it and will use them again if I ever get the chance.

Great Experience
I had a great day heading to Akagera National Park together with Claude from Golden Rwanda Safaris. Everything went very smoothly, was well planned and communicated and we spend a lot of time in the national park.

Excellent safari
Had an excellent 1-day safari with Golden Rwanda safari’s and Emile as a guide. Picked up right outside our rented house in Kigali at 4am. Driving through Akagera for about 5 hours in perfect weather and saw a lot of animals.

We got quick reply on all questions before the tour, was picked up as agreed, had full day of safari in comfortable Land Cruiser with A/C, and dropped off at hotel of own choise in Kigali. As of value for money, we did not check with other operators. However, check if the park entrance fee is included. In our case it was.

Highly reliable and well planned services
My friend and I had a wonderful experience using Golden Rwanda Safaris for a day trip to Akagera National Park. Frank is very responsive and was very easy to communicate with. Since we had an evening flight, he planned everything well so that we enjoyed the entire park and were at the airport on time. Our package included pick up and drop off, park fees, breakfast and packed lunch for picnic later. We enjoyed a buffet breakfast at the scenic Akagera Game resort inside the park and got to choose from a menu of lunch sandwiches which came with fruits, snacks, package juice and water bottle.
The game drive itself was wonderful and very eventful. We got to see a variety of wildlife including antelopes, baboons, topis, giraffe, zebras, wild buffaloes, elephant, hippopotamus, and variety of cranes and birds. Just as we were giving up hope on seeing any big cats, thanks to Frank's keen eye, we got to witness a leopard hunting and chasing antelopes.
We are glad to have chosen Golden Rwanda Safaris for our trip to Akagera National Park and highly recommend his services. We greatly enjoyed having Frank as our driver and guide as he shared many facts about the history of the park, the animals, the landscape, the country and his own entrepreneurial journey. Being two female travelers in Africa for the first time, we felt quite safe and were able to sit back, relax and fully enjoy the trip. Thank you Frank for a great experience!
