Good service but incredibly expensive - some costs could have been avoided
4/5

The service was seamless and prompt. Thought I felt that some costs could have avoided.

For example, I had a driver and car booked to pick up from airport and take me straight to Naivasha. After a night's stay in Naivasha, I headed to the Mara for 3 nights. The camp where I stayed had its own vehicle to take me for the game drives. This was not known to me as I was a first time traveler. Africa Keys car and driver stayed there for 3 nights in that camp AT MY EXPENSE. The guy and the driver could have gone back to Nairobi and returned for pickup.
By the time I realized it, it was already too late. I ended up paying for the parked vehicle and the driver for all 3 nights.

The last night stay at Nairobi wasn't great. The suite was a cramped one bedroom suite for a family of 4 , two adults, one 13 year old and 7 year old.
Considering the amount I paid, I was expecting a 2 bedroom suite.

Please be clear about what you are being charged for and the deliverables.

Disappointed with unprofessional handling
2/5

I booked a safari tour with Africa Keys based on a glowing recommendation from a friend, so my expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the hype.

Local Knowledge: Surprisingly lacking one of the biggest letdowns was the lack of insight into the country itself. Our itinerary included Lake Manyara, which turned out to be a major disappointment. Wildlife was extremely limited, and the park felt more like a detour than a destination.

Food: The meals were consistently underwhelming—bland, poorly prepared, and lacking any local flavor. In a place known for vibrant cuisine, this was a real letdown except in one hotel during our stay. Even more frustrating was the complete lack of responsiveness.

Why I Booked: A Friend’s Recommendation To be fair, I can see how someone might have had a better experience—perhaps with a different guide or itinerary. My friend had a great time, which is why I gave it a shot. Sadly, my trip didn’t reflect the same quality. May be the tour company is only good in Kenya but not in Tanzania.

The Good Bits: The landscapes were stunning, and spotting wildlife in their natural habitat was unforgettable. That part of Africa never disappoints. But the tour company didn’t enhance the experience—they just got us from point A to B.
Overall If you’re considering for good safari experience, I’d suggest doing a bit more research. The magic of Africa deserves a team that truly understands and celebrates it.

Dear Abhijit,

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and for choosing Africa Keys for your safari experience. We truly value hearing from our guests, as it helps us continue to improve and deliver the best possible service. It was a true pleasure hosting you. We are delighted that you enjoyed the stunning landscapes, wildlife encounters, and the magic of Tanzania’s national parks, from Tarangire to the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater. These are indeed some of Africa’s greatest treasures, and we are glad you were able to experience them.

At the same time, we are sincerely sorry to learn that certain aspects of your trip did not fully meet your expectations. With regards to the meals, we understand your disappointment during the initial day when vegetarian lunch boxes were mistakenly provided. This was an oversight on the part of the lodge, and while our guide could not open each sealed box for hygiene and ethical reasons, he immediately resolved the matter from the following day by ensuring that food hampers were prepared instead—avoiding similar issues for the rest of the safari.

Regarding Lake Manyara, we completely understand your sentiment. Wildlife encounters in natural habitats are never 100% predictable, and sightings can vary widely from day to day. While Manyara often surprises guests with its diversity, we regret that your visit did not bring the same level of excitement.

Your feedback on guiding and communication also comes as a surprise, as our guides are local experts with extensive training and knowledge of Tanzania’s parks and wildlife. However, we do understand that at times their focus on safe driving, wildlife spotting, and communication simultaneously may not have met your expectations. We take this feedback seriously and will continue to emphasize the importance of clear and engaging guest interaction.

Lastly, your impression of being driven from point A to B may have been influenced by the distances between lodges, which in Tanzania are often significant. Nevertheless, our intent is always to balance travel logistics with maximizing time in the parks, ensuring guests have the best possible safari experience.

Africa Keys...the best
5/5

I went to the mara in January with Africa Keys and everything was just clockwork.
Their cars, driver-guides and choice of accomodation was excellent throughout.
And the Manager was always free to receive our calls whenever we needed clarification.
I will definitely tell my friends to book with Africa Keys.

Once in a lifetime experience!
5/5

We had only about four days to experience Kenya. The tour plan suggested to us by Africa Keys helped us make the most of it. We stayed two days at Amboseli Serene Safari Lodge and then took a flight to Masai Mara and stayed at the Fig Tree Camp for another two days. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning landscapes, the rich diversity of wildlife, and the welcoming spirit of the people. David our guide was really well experienced and knew exactly where to go and what to see. He is quite knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystems. We were doing game drives twice a day. The highlights at Amboseli were seeing a pack of eighteen lions sitting together. We were also quite lucky to have seen the majestic Kilimanjaro. The flight to mara was an experience in itself (which I highly recommend taking even if you aren't short on time). We saw pack of cheetahs, a leopard and numerous lions and elephants at the Mara. We even saw a Cheetah and a few lions with a fresh kill and thanks to David we were the first to spot them both.
The accommodations were equally impressive, offering a blend of luxury and local charm. The resorts provided comfortable rooms with incredible views and served up delicious food each day. The meals were a highlight, showcasing local flavors with a variety that catered to all tastes. Dining felt like part of the adventure, adding a unique taste of Kenyan culture.
Overall, this journey was a perfect adventure. Kenya’s beauty is truly awe-inspiring, and we left with lasting memories and a profound respect for the country’s natural wonders. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and enriching travel experience!
Thanks Aparajita and her team!

Highly organised tour operator
5/5

We were 4 adults going for the African safari to Masai Mara for the first time and were a bit apprehensive that how will be the facilities and the safari itself! However, we were delighted more and more as we progressed in the Safari, starting from Nairobi, then staying at the beautiful tents at “Olive Bush Camp” at Masai Mara, riding on the hot air balloon and seeing the animals below with the sunrise, then visiting Naivasha, Nakuru and finally ending the trip at “The Ark” at the mountain in Aberdere national park! The whole tour was simply AMAZING and kudos to Aparajita for organising it so well and also our guide, David, who really took care to ensure that we reach everywhere on time and get the best views and experiences.
Thank you both for making our safari a memorable experience of a lifetime!!

Low capacity to provide good services
2/5

This tour company is misleading and does not stand upto the commitments it’s promised.

They portray an incorrect picture inspite of knowing client expectations and mislead them by lies. They do not have capacity of good and professional services. Once you’ve paid and are on the tour they do not respond to any of your concerns. They portray a different picture and provide sub standard services.

Also they withhold information which comes as a surprise later on the tour and which is disappointing while you are there and stressful as well.

It’s a marketing gimmick and if you do go ahead with them still make sure to put everything on paper. Example
Food
Conveyance
Itinerary
Professional guide
Accommodation expectations

Be clear about everything they don’t stand up to their commitments.

Meticulous and Professional with utmost attention to detail
5/5

We, a group of 4, booked a 2 weeks customised safari through Africa Keys during March-April 2026. We traveled across Samburu, Ol Pejeta, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha and Ambosseli in our private safari vehicle. From the beginning till end, what stood out was Aparajita and her team's professionalism and attention to details and to ensure that all our needs were met -- be it related to choice of accommodations within the parks or adjusting the safari schedules (within the stipulated times) and durations to meet our requirements. The vehicle was comfortable and customised for photographing the wild without any hindrance. Alex, our safari guide and driver, was also someone who ensured that he went the extra mile to ensure that we return with unforgettable memories of Kenya and her wildlife. I wish the team all the very best in the days to come and would highly recommend them.

Magical experience in Kenya!
5/5

We had a great time in Kenya with Africa keys. The bookings, transfers and safaris were perfect and smooth. Our guide Patrick was amazing, very hospitable and knowledgable. We loved the efforts he put in making sure we got to see the rare sightings. We were lucky to see the Big Five, and the credit goes to Patrick. The stays were wonderful as well! Highly recommend.
