Great value, unforgettable safari
5/5

ETA's itinerary was very reasonable, the driver Kevin was very considerate, and the car model was a 4x4 Land Cruiser all-terrain off-road.
There was nothing to complain about from beginning to end, it can be called a perfect journey.
Whenever they encountered animals, the driver would stop and give us time to take pictures, and would also be very proactive in looking for animals. This time we even saw a cheetah hunting, which was very thrilling. We have recommended this travel agency to many Chinese partners, and they have also signed up.
Thank you very much ETA for giving us this unforgettable trip.

The most helpful and reliable team I have the chance to meet in Nairobi!
5/5

This was my second trip to Kenya, and I booked with Eta Adventure Safaris for the first time.
The tour was perfect. Even, last minutes arrangements, were made to suit exactly expectations for this trip.
Since arrival, at the office in Nairobi, I got the best impression from Derrick and the rest of the team and their warm welcome (sorry I forget the names of other people ...)
During the safaris (in my case, Mara and Amboseli) Derrick was frequently sending messages to inquire about how the trip was going...
At the end of my tour (I ended by a short escape in Mombasa beaches), I had a sad and frighten experience just before leaving Mombasa. I was aggressed and robbed in the street.
The Team of Eta Adventure was informed of what was happened by my driver, and Derrick and his colleague were waiting for me at the airport in Nairobi.
The gave me the best support and stayed with me until late night, during the time the incident was declared at the airport police.
This two young people were incredible. I'm extremely grateful for the help they provide me!

Excellent Experience - Well-Thought Itinerary, Great Service/Coordination team
5/5

My first safari experience was a resounding success thanks to the Eta team and my wonderful game driver, Brian! When I began to explore safari options (looking for roughly a week long trip), I was impressed by Eta's itinerary and cost point. The itinerary was comprehensive, including fees for the game reserves, lodging, and all meals - there was very little as well as optional activities (which I highly recommend participating in!). From the get-go, Derrick, my main point of contact at Eta, was patient and thorough in answering my (many) questions. He went above and beyond throughout the remainder of the process, checking in with me throughout the safari to make sure I had a good experience.

The actual safari experience was lovely. We saw amazing wildlife and explored many different terrains within Kenya. I embarked on the 7-day itinerary which included visits to Masai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Lake Nakuru, Hell's Gate, and Amboseli game parks. I wasn't sure what to expect from a safari, but a lot of time was spent in the car, sometimes spent off-roading or traversing bumpy roads - if you have back problems or other mobility constraints, come prepared! I also want to remind people that you are tracking wild animals. There is nothing your driver can do to control if the lions will be awake when you see them or if they'll even be visible in the first place; I only bring this up as there were several entitled people who would whine if the Cheetah we saw wouldn't magically wake up and smile for them - please don't be that person!

That aside, my driver Brian, did an excellent job at tracking down rare animals and making sure that we got up close and personal to the big five and more. Brian is also extremely funny, knowledgeable, and can answer almost any question you have along the way. We had a few technical issues (broken down car, flat tire in a game park) and Brian remained cool and collected until they were resolved. I was also impressed by the fact that we were able to find a replacement vehicle within an hour of our car breaking down, allowing us to proceed with our safari with little interruption.

I highly recommend participating in optional activities - the Masai Mara visit and Lake Naivasha boat ride were some of my favorite experiences of the safari! Overall, the overall costs of the safari are well worth the money. I personally upgraded to the "mid-range" accommodations, which actually ended up being some pretty nice hotels along the way. If you can afford it, I think the few hundred dollar upgrade in comparison to the budget option is worth the splurge.

Couple of other notes - there were a few minor issues throughout my safari, however, the Eta team responded to them quickly. I had a situation where one of the hotels I was staying got overbooked for one of the two nights I was supposed to stay there. While unideal to need to switch hotels, Eta was able to replace that with a comparable accommodation and everything worked out fine. Another piece I'll note is at times there seemed to be a disconnect between what was being communicated between the safari company and our driver (e.g. which passengers were staying at which lodgings, etc.) - this didn't impact the overall experience but sometimes lead to some confusion or additional communication needed between safari company and driver.

Everything said and done - Eta provided a fantastic safari experience and I could not recommend Brian more! I loved going on safari in Kenya and could not recommend this tour more!

Highly Recommended!
5/5

From start to finish, the team at Eta Adventure Safaris fully supported the journey, not just the safari itself, but the entire trip, including transfers, drivers and logistics outside the safari. Everything was well organized and thoughtful.

I worked mainly with Derrick, who was incredibly attentive, professional and always available to answer my questions. He carefully considered my preferences, worked within my budget, and helped make sure everything went smoothly.

On safari, our jeep and driver PapaJohn were amazing. He always knew exactly where to find the animals, which allowed us to see the Big 5, a cheetah, and so many other incredible species. His knowledge and guidance made every moment thrilling and memorable.

The whole trip felt smooth, reliable, and genuinely caring. Eta Adventure Safaris is a company you can truly trust. I am very grateful to have experienced Africa with them and next time I travel there, I will definitely reach out to this agency again.

Special thanks to Derrick for his patience, professionalism, and constant support, he made this journey truly special. 🤗

Efficient, Trustworthy and Flexible beyond compare. Thoroughly satisfied with ETA Safaris
5/5

Don't look any further for a very trustworthy company. Compared to what UK tour companies were charging us, ETA is the best out there and gave myself and my Fiancé a dream safari holiday between Kenya and Tanzania. Derrick, our main contact, was thorough from beginning to end and when needed, could be reached very easily which was highly reassuring. ETA is a local kenyan company and they took care of everything from the moment we left the airport, transfer to and from Tanzania as well as logistics within Tanzania. They did the hard work so we could just focus on our holiday. Please don't look further than ETA for your African Safari needs

Reliable, professional operator offering well-planned, affordable safaris across Kenya and Tanzania.

Review of ETA Adventure Safaris, Nairobi

We booked a 14-day budget trip through ETA Adventure Safaris, covering Kenya (8 days) and Tanzania (6 days). Our itinerary included Masai Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha, and Amboseli in Kenya, followed by Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Manyara in Tanzania.

Planning Phase:

All our communication and trip planning were handled by Derrick, who was excellent throughout the process. He was quick to respond to every query raised by me or my team and helped design an itinerary perfectly suited to the places we wanted to cover. After comparing several quotes and itineraries, we chose ETA for their transparency and professionalism. On request, Derrick shared the company’s Tourism Regulatory Board Licence, which further reassured us of their authenticity.

Execution Phase:

The Kenya part of the trip was managed directly by ETA, while the Tanzania leg was handled by a partner agency that maintained the same high standards. Everything ran smoothly—from airport pick-up to safaris and drop-off. Our driver and guide in Kenya, Martin, was outstanding. He had a sharp eye for spotting animals and always positioned the vehicle perfectly for everyone to get the best view. He was alert to radio updates from other guides, ensuring we never missed a major sighting. Martin’s cheerful nature made the journey even more enjoyable, though I felt his storytelling about the forests and wildlife could have been more detailed, given his experience.

Accommodation:

For a budget tour, the accommodations exceeded our expectations. The rooms were comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and functional, and Derrick made a genuine effort to secure the best options for us. He even adjusted a few hotel choices mid-planning to improve our overall experience.

Food:

Throughout the trip, the meals were of good quality and served in generous portions.

Overall Experience:

ETA Adventure Safaris delivered exactly what they promised—an affordable yet well-organized safari experience across Kenya and Tanzania. Derrick’s professionalism, Martin’s guiding skills, and the smooth coordination between the two country teams made this journey memorable. I would definitely recommend ETA Adventure Safaris to anyone looking for a reliable and well-managed East African safari.

Irresponsable
1/5

We did the 11-day Kenya and Tanzania safari. The ETA office is actually the Super Eagles office; I believe they are the same agency. The Kenyan driver/guide during the safaris gave us no information about where we were going or what we would do next. He drove aggressively, putting the passengers at risk, and on one occasion, he hit a sheep in the middle of the road. After complaints from all the passengers, they switched to another guide and vehicle; the vehicle was very uncomfortable and the windows didn't work properly. At one lodge, there were mice in the room at night. We found droppings on the bed and our belongings. A mouse tore through the fabric of the backpack, ate some cookies we had inside, and left droppings. Because of this situation, we consulted Derrick about what to do and whether there was a possibility of disease transmission, but we received no response. As we continued our safari in Tanzania, Seven Wonders was in charge of organizing it, and we had no problems with them.

Perfect safari tour!
5/5

We booked an 8-day safari and Mombasa tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. We were lucky to have an excellent guide, Denis, and an amazing group of people who bonded really well throughout the trip. Denis was calm, organised, and kept us on schedule while still being flexible when minor changes came up—always keeping us informed. His deep knowledge of wildlife and his keen understanding of animal movements made the safari drives incredibly rewarding. We were thrilled to see the Big Five up close! His African style driving ensured every day was an adventure.

Maasai Mara – The camp accommodation was fantastic: clean, welcoming, and very comfortable. The food was absolutely top-notch. The safari drives were long, but the experience was well worth it. The wildebeest river crossing, though a bit chaotic due to large crowds (not the tour operator’s fault), was still an incredible moment to witness.

Lake Naivasha – The boat ride was $20, with an optional guided walking safari for an additional $20. Our boat guide was a young man full of knowledge and humour, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

Lake Nakuru – This was a beautiful and refreshing part of the journey. The landscape was noticeably different from the other parks, offering a unique contrast and stunning scenery. It was a peaceful experience, and we enjoyed spotting a variety of wildlife in this more serene setting.

Amboseli – While the drive to the campsite was long, dusty, and bumpy, it was absolutely worth it. Nayati Camp was a fantastic place to stay—comfortable, welcoming, and well-situated. Exploring Amboseli National Park felt like stepping into The Lion King, with its breathtaking landscapes, large herds of elephants, and an abundance of birds and wildlife. The views of Mount Kilimanjaro in the background made it all the more magical. Truly unforgettable!

Mombasa – The white sand beaches were absolutely stunning and the perfect way to unwind after our safari adventure. We stayed at The Reef Hotel, which offered a very comfortable and relaxing stay.

A special thanks to Derrick, who was outstanding in organising and accommodating our travel needs. He was incredibly flexible, making necessary adjustments to the itinerary when one of our group members unfortunately experienced severe food poisoning. Despite the change in plans, everything was handled smoothly and with care. Our guides in Mombasa were friendly, and Derrick ensured we had reliable pick-up and drop-off at every stage—completely removing any logistical stress from our trip.

We were truly impressed by ETA Adventures. Their budget package was priced significantly lower than many competitors, yet the experience we received was nothing short of 5-star. Highly recommended!

cost-effective
5/5

Advantages: The staff have a great attitude, the prices are reasonable, the itinerary is quite rich, and the drivers are quite capable of spotting animals.
Disadvantages: Since it's a group tour, there are always 5 - 7 tourists on the bus, and they have different accommodation arrangements. The travel agency is the same as Super Eagle, but using different company names during hotel check - in can sometimes be confusing.
Overall, it's a really good trip. However, as the time goes by, I felt a bit tired in the later days, and I'm not quite used to the food in the hotel. The lions in Maasai Mara, the elephant herds at the foot of Mount Kilimanjaro, and the brilliant starry sky are all amazing. It's a pity that I didn't get a clear view of the leopard hiding in the bushes. I was a bit disappointed that there aren't many other special animals in Amboseli except the elephant herds.

Big focus on our happiness
5/5

Overall

Our safari was an incredible experience overall. We were lucky enough to see nearly all of the animals we had hoped for—missing only the elusive leopard, which is understandably harder to spot as they’re nocturnal. The value for money was insane - it was great and so much cheaper than the other alternatives for the same thing.

Our group dynamic was really positive; everyone got along well, though the group changed fairly often, which keeps things interesting.

The packed lunches were consistently good—filling and convenient for long days out in the parks.

It’s definitely an exhausting trip, with lots of early mornings, but it was all worth it for the wildlife and scenery. The food was always hearty and generous—sometimes a bit too much given how little physical activity we were doing, but it was always tasty and appreciated.

One of the best aspects was how well-placed all of our accommodations were—right near the national parks, which made our days much more efficient and enjoyable.

Derrick

We had an absolutely fantastic experience with Derrick who helped organise the trip. He is incredibly kind, extremely reliable, and always willing to help—no matter the time. He even answered our calls at night without hesitation, helped us move our safari seamlessly, offered valuable advice on visas, and went the extra mile to book our train tickets.

What stood out most was how well-organised he is. Derrick managed to plan a unique, personalised trip for us, making everything feel effortless and smooth. We couldn’t recommend him more highly!

Anthony

Anthony was an absolutely brilliant driver for the Masai Mara. His attitude truly reflected the mindset: “I want to make you happy”—which should honestly be the motto of the whole company.

He’s an exceptional driver, getting us impressively close to the wildlife while always ensuring we felt safe and informed. Though quiet, Anthony shared just the right amount of information—he clearly knew the animals and the land inside out. We never missed a moment—from a hunting cheetah to lions feeding—and Anthony often got us to the scene early.

Leroy

Leroy was an outstanding guide from start to finish. His knowledge of the animals was truly impressive, and he communicated everything so clearly—his English is excellent, which made everything smooth and easy to follow.

He’s a skilled and reliable driver, and we always felt in safe hands. Beyond that, Leroy was incredibly approachable—easy to talk to and always happy to answer our questions. He shared stories about his life and gave us so much insight into Kenya, which added real depth to our experience.

One moment that really stood out was how hard he worked to make sure we caught our train at the end of the trip. He completely understood our needs and worked with us every step of the way to make it happen.

Masai Mara

We had a lovely stay at Flair Camp Experiences. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely keen to help. They always made sure we felt safe and looked after—escorting us to our tent each evening with a torch.

The food was a real highlight—absolutely delicious. The chef was fantastic, consistently serving up impressive four-course meals.

There were, however, a few practical issues during our stay. Electricity was a bit temperamental, especially when it rained, and in our tent, the plug sockets and hot water didn’t work, which was a little frustrating.

That said, the overall experience was warm, welcoming, and memorable—and with just a few improvements, it could be truly exceptional.

Nakuru

Buraha Zenoni Hotel & Resort was a comfortable and pleasant place to stay. The rooms were very clean and nicely maintained, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel had a relaxing, resort-like feel.

We were only there for one night so, unfortunately, we didn’t have time to take advantage of the facilities, but everything looked well-kept and inviting. One small downside was that our toilet didn’t flush overnight and we weren’t forewarned—something that could definitely be improved.

The buffet was a real highlight, offering a wide variety of tasty options, and the view from the restaurant was absolutely beautiful.

Amboseli

Nyali Safari Camp was a real highlight of our trip. The views of Mount Kilimanjaro were absolutely stunning—waking up to that backdrop was unforgettable. The tents were incredibly spacious; ours had five four-poster double beds, all with mosquito nets, which made it feel both luxurious and practical.

The staff were quick and efficient—when a lightbulb wasn’t working, it was fixed within 10 minutes. The buffet had plenty of good options, and the overall facilities were excellent, offering both comfort and convenience.
