He provided a seamless and enjoyable travel experience from start to finish.
The safari experience with Viega was great. I enjoyed every bit of it.
I look forward to go on a safari with Viega in the near future.

He was knowledgeable about the parks
Booking was easy and Rogers was very helpful designing the right tour for our family. Very good communication regardless of the time difference he was able to answer questions when we had them.
We were able to see all the animals we had hoped to see. Our accommodations were very nice and great for our family. We did have a snag getting into one of the parks so we did miss a night game hunt but we were able to get in the next day. The vehicle was comfortable and we had plenty of space for our family of 5 and our luggage.
Not we were expecting
Overall the accommodation was excellent throughout our week safari. We were extremely disappointed with the lack of time actually spent out on game drives. Started well during our first two days in Masai Mara, but then went down hill from there as we were constantly changed from one jeep group to another. We spent hours waiting for the groups to arrive once we had been changed. The drivers were constantly apologising for us being messed about. One of the jeeps broke down twice and we were late arriving at our accommodation. When we went to Amboselli the guide was very late picking us up so did not spend a full day in the park as had been arranged and when we eventually got in the park it was to hot to see the animals. The Fifth guide seemed disinterested in wanting to show us animals that we were keen to see and just wanted to show us elephants and drive very slowly around the park to pass time.

Flexible and friendly
In our limited planning process Rodgers was very prompt in response with any questions. Also flexible trying to make the trip to fit our preference and requests like no other agency. Finally the price was appealing and we decided to go with them.
Safari was fun, accommodations they booked for us were all good, the guide Charls was responsible man and keen to our needs who we were comfortable to be with for whole 6 days. We are content of the trip.

Flexible, easy, good communication
We took Viega expeditions because they were flexible in the planning, reacting quickly, good in communication and price competitive. Everything well went before, during and after our trip. Small agency with a friendly approach. Special thanks to our driver: Charles

Our Unforgettable First Safari: A Family Adventure in Africa
As a family of four adults, our recent trip marked our very first adventure to the African continent, and it was truly an incredible experience.
Booking with Safari.com
We found Safari.com to be an incredibly efficient and user-friendly platform for planning our safari. It offers a wide array of destinations and tour operators, and the standardized format for comparing options made our decision-making process much easier.
Viega Expeditions: Our chosen tour operator was excellent. They were quick to provide quotes and highly responsive to all our questions. We especially appreciated how they customized the tour to fit our preferred accommodations. They also offered valuable guidance on our hotel stay in Nairobi, visa requirements, things to carry and, importantly for us, they eased our concerns about the availability of vegan/vegetarian food throughout the trip.
The 'Land Cruiser' provided for our game drives was in good condition. Our guide and driver, a Masai person, was not only polite and knowledgeable but also had an uncanny ability to take us to all the best game viewing locations.
A Hiccup:
The only significant issue we encountered was an unexpected request from Viega Expeditions for an approximate 10% price increase after we had paid our advance payment. While this was eventually settled for a lesser amount, it was a moment of concern. To avoid any potential misunderstandings any tour operators, we strongly recommend getting all seemingly obvious and minor details clarified and documented in the final proposal.
Overall Experience
Despite that small issue, our overall safari experience was magnificent, thanks to the genuinely helpful people we encountered along the way. The hospitality at all the camps we stayed in – Masai Mara and Amboseli - and even Naivasha was consistently outstanding.

Super responsive and friendly but too small to have a strong structure
Things we loved - First of all, the process to book was easy and not too complicated. Our driver, Charles, was super friendly and was not weird at all. The lodge they booked for us was amazing as well and the game drives were smooth in the car. We loved our own private experience as it was me, my wife, and one of our friend.
Things we did not approve of - Although we had a lot of fun and going with Viega was relatively cheaper than others, we did not get everything we paid for. There were 3 game drives as part of our 4-day package and we only got 2. We got there 2 hours late than what was estimated when Rogers talked to us before our trip, but it was not on us since we left at exactly 7am as per schedule. I did bring this up IN DETAIL with Rogers and the driver, but we weren't really given anything back other than an apology and a free trip to the giraffe feeding center (which is not even 15% cost of a one day of game drive).
We also spent almost 4 hours trying to find a Rhino day 2 (which we were told AFTER that there are only 2). Annnd ended up wasting another 2 hours trying to fix the bumper at the rangers station...but we brushed that off
Feedback for Viega - Rogers did spend almost a day with us when we got back to apologize and listen, but some sort of money back is what anyone would prefer. Because as per the package and Rogers, it was almost $200 per day for a park entrance fee ($600 total for us that we feel like was not compensated). Apparently this was brought up to their Boss, Jared, but looks like he didn't care to take accountability either.
Some direct feedback below:
- Yes they are small from an operational perspective, but they need to have open line of communication between their drivers.
- Rogers is efficient but needs to understand time difference of where his clients are based, because he was and still calls me after midnight or when I am at work
- If something happens where money is involved and a client is not happy, the Director needs to jump in and take responsibility
If you have made this far, I could have given less than 3 starts here but I don't want to hurt a small business. Hopefully this detailed feedback helps them become better.
