Simply a Pleasure to Plan Our Trip With Amazing Tanzania
From the day that I reached out to Amazing Tanzania by email, to the very end of the trip they were always a pleasure to deal with. Responses were always timely, communication was open and honest, the price was always fair and transparent. Through the trip all of the logistics were taken care of so we could spend our time looking at the animals instead of getting caught up in logistics. The recommendations made by Laura were excellent and always came with options and explanations as to why or why not we should do something/go somewhere. This was very helpful for us to decide what we wanted to do with our limited time in the country. Lastly, the price we paid up front was the price for everything. There was never any unexpected fees at any point in the trip.
Our driver, Ukadi, was also excellent. His knowledge was excellent, and his experience showed when it came time to get great views of the animals and to coordinate with other drivers.
Thank you Amazing Tanzania for an unforgettable experience.

Go with those that know
At root why do you go on safari? Primarily to see the animals and experience the location; from night sky to dramatic vistas. That entails having the best guides, not drivers, who both know the area (in my case the area around Lake Ndutu), understand animal behaviour and are up to speed on what is happening locally with the animals (which pride has which males, who has cubs, where the migration may or may not be etc.). Our two guides that our party has known for a number of years represent all that. The secondary reason is to be comfortable to feel that authentic Africa that is fast disappearing; a mix of rustic and modern. You can get modern with pools and gin and tonics and animals on tap at waterholes in any number of lodges. That elusive mix is what Amazing Tanzania manages to pull off. This recent trip exceeded expectations on animal behaviour, the sheer numbers of grazers and the associated predators. The tents are first rate and food excellent. The camp fire burned every night under heavy stars.
If you want a better link with the place and what Africa is/was all about then go with these guys; if you need to dress up and have drinks pre dinner, a drive at a respectable time in the morning after breakfast, lounge around a pool then go to South Africa.

Extremely professional with a personal touch!
Laura of Amazing Tanzania did a fantastic job coordinating our trip which started in Nairobi and ended in Zanzibar. We were never left wondering what our next steps would be, and who would be coming to greet and drive us each day to our various destinations/activities and tours. Everything was handled professionally, and every detail worked out perfectly. Laura and Colin also made it a point to meet us for lunch in Karatu before we started on our game drives. A very nice personal touch!
Our guides were also very professional and lots of fun to be with, and extremely knowledgeable about the areas they took us to!
Throughout our 16 day trip, Laura kept in touch with us and offered suggestions and tips to enhance our safari. Prior to our trip, she made sure to keep in touch and worked with us via email and WhatsApp ( Malaysia and California clients) and provided constant reminders of necessities, for example, shots required and newer U.S. bills; to a detailed packing list. She even purchased a brand new pair of binoculars for us to use while on safari. We would certainly not hesitate to recommend Amazing Tanzania to our friends and colleagues and might even visit Tanzania again in the near future. We had a fantastic and memorable trip!

A holiday way beyond our expectations
We contacted Amazing Tanzania with a vague wish-list and within a very short time Laura suggested an itinerary which suited us beautifully. We had a wonderful time at their private tented camp in the Serengeti where everything was perfect: the tents, the food, the service from their excellent staff, not to omit Colin and Laura's great hospitality and intimate knowledge of this most beautiful country.
The vehicles were comfortable and well maintained and the drivers very good. Hamisi, our guide, whose game-spotting skills are unsurpassed, was very knowledgeable and in no hurry to rush around. He gave plenty of time for us to simply enjoy observing the wildlife in areas of the Serengeti where few tourists venture. Bliss!
Laura had also made overnight bookings for us at Ndutu Lodge (very good recommendation) and also for our final week in Zanzibar. Her detailed and very reasonable quotation was absolutely accurate and there were no hidden or extra costs. The whole trip ran smoothly and according to Laura and Colin's meticulous planning.
We had a truly unforgettable holiday and couldn't recommend Amazing Tanzania more highly. This was not our first safari, but this was surely the best. We will be back soon!

Great questions, spot on recommendations, go the extra mile service, precision execution! The best.
Our fabulous adventure on safari in the parks of Tanzania and towns and beaches of Zanzibar resulted from our finding Laura at Amazing Tanzania. She worked with us in arranging flights hotels, guides, safaris accommodations and transfers providing one-stop shop convenience. We just showed up and were thereafter in hands of this amazing group of hospitality and safari pros. In fact she provided us her personal binoculars without them we would have missed many fantastic Safari sightings.
Great personal service. We had numerous questions and changes in plans over the course of putting this trip together and Laura handled all graciously and professionally.
One could not have a better safari guide than Paul who had the warmest welcome upon arrival, biggest smile, the best eyes (for spotting game), in depth knowledge of the area - history, plants, culture, animals, tribes, etc. He made us feel great and loves what he does and it showed every minute.
We were looking for some authentic experiences and the accommodations we had provided this. All in historic or idyllic settings, excellent food, wonderful people with local history and color.
I highly recommend Amazing Tanzania when you are planning to visit this part of the world. Contact laura and see for yourself.

Seamless Experience
Amazing Tanzania did a fantastic job in putting together a once in a lifetime itinerary for our group of six. From start to finish the staff were extremely accommodating and Laura was very good at getting back to us via email to get everything organised for our arrival. Everything was arranged with our comfort in mind. The accommodation on our tented safari exceeded all expectations. They were clean and de-bugged for our arrival with special added touches such as torches and a complimentary Massai blanket for each person. We had hot water when required for washing and a chemical toilet which was fantasic, not to mention the comfortable beds! The location of the camp was amazing and to interact with local Massai guides was a once in a life time experience. They were so happy to have us there and teach us about the local cultures, landscape and wildlife. The food in camp was exceptional and the chef always came out to introduce the lunchtime/evening menus. Drinking around the camp fire at night was so relaxing after a long day out on the plains and to have waiters topping up your drink until bedtime was another added bonus. All of the other accommodations were also of an exceptional standard and getting to and from locations was seamless.
Amazing Tanzania did a really great job in organising our trip and nothing was too much trouble, they even helped us arrange a balloon ride right at the last minute. We would defiantly recommend them as a company and hope to use them again in future trips to Tanzania.

Unique family safari in unspoiled and remote wilderness
We cannot find any other words than … truly amazing! … for the trip Amazing Tanzania organized for us and our two teenage daughters from April 26 to May 1st 2013.
Being based in Tanzania for a few years, we were very keen this time to go off the beaten tourists tracks and discover a less explored area in the Ngorongoro, the Gol Mountains region. Very few travel agencies are offering to visit this region at that time of year. Amazing Tanzania was the only one I could find still running a camp in that area at that time. It is obvious the owners know what they are talking about, they are very knowledgeable, professional, gave us good advices and were easily reachable for any questions we had. They came up with a well-organized and customized itinerary to this less traveled place, at an affordable price, including a great suggestion: a return trip through Lake Natron instead of going back on ourselves through Karatu.
Very good and enjoyable driver/guide, beautiful game drives around Ndutu lake and then an unforgettable drive through extraordinary scenery to reach Amazing Tanzania’s camp in Salei plain: we drove all day at leisure pace from Ndutu along the Serengeti/NCA border to Lemuta kopjes, where we could walk up and down the rocks, headed off-road (as there are no roads!) around Lemuta hill with magnificent views over Angata Kiti and the giant Nasera rock. We enjoyed a picnic lunch and a walk at the foot of Nasera rock and continued our drive along the Gol mountains, crossing Angata Kiti amid gazelles, zebras, giraffes, wildebeasts grazing or running through the plain close to Masai herds… and suddenly at the end of Kiti plain, on top of a hill, we discovered a 360° view over the vast Salei plain down below, with volcanoes in the background and the lush green Gol Mountains on our side… Magical! Breathtaking! And then down a winding track to Salei camp where we were warmly welcomed by the whole camp team.
In Salei, we walked in Ol Karien gorge, interacted with the local Maasai, enjoyed the camp all for ourselves and strolled leisurely around on the plain in front of the camp. We drove back to Kilimanjaro Airport via lake Natron, winding down into the Great Rift Valley, taking in many more magnificent views.
We stayed a few nights at the well-known Ndutu Lodge and then 2 nights at Salei camp run by Amazing Tanzania; a small, intimate and very cosy camp with all commodities (and without all these out-of-place luxuries), set up under acacia trees along a dry river bed, wide open grassland in front with gazelles grazing, giraffes strolling far away on the horizon with Ol Donyio Lengai volcano standing majestically in the background… Smiling & devoted staff, excellent chef and food and a very friendly Masai guide full of interesting stories.
We highly recommend Amazing Tanzania. We also recommend visiting the Gol Mountains in the rainy season if you like stunning scenery, walking in the wild as well as meeting the Maasai (in a much less touristic area) – it is not the place to go if you look for big game. In April-May, it is lush green thanks to the (rare) rains and gazelles, zebras, giraffes and wildebeasts are all around. But above all, go for the spectacular landscapes, the feeling of remoteness and wilderness, the sense of space and freedom! Thank you again Laura & Colin & your team for this unforgettable safari.

Excellent service, provided plently of options and customised my safari based on my budget
I had a few days to spare before I went on my Kilimanjaro hike so I decided to look for a short 2 day safari. Laura from Amazing Tanzania was really helpful throughout the entire process and always provided prompt responses. A few things really stood out for me. I contacted over a dozen tour operators directly to see what they can offer since most packages were 3-4 days and it didn't fit my schedule. Of all the companies I reached out to, Laura was the only person to get back to me with questions about my itinerary, budget, etc. When I did get the quote from her, it was well thought out. Not only were the options well within my budget, they also took into account my travel plans. There's also the added bonus that their quotes were cheaper than any of the other quotes I got. After I got the quote and we were discussing potential destinations, I got a recommendation to go to Tangiere instead of Lake Manyara and I asked Laura to change the schedule. She basically said that's not a great idea, but did it in such a great way, giving details and reasoning
When I did finally arrive in Tanzania everything went as well as I could hope for. Our guide Ibra was brilliant and I have a sneeky suspicion he's some kind of an animal whisperer (or he's just that lucky) as we got to see pretty much everything the Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara had to offer, even saw a rhino from distance!

If you're considering a trip, I strongly suggest this company

Indeed Amazing
About 60 Lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffe, elephants, one rhino in the distance - what we saw on our trip with Amazing Tansania was really amazing - due to the great organization by Laura und due to Joseph our excellent driver und guide we had for our ten day trip. Amazing Tanzania was the best to choose for these unforgettable trip to Arusha Park, to Tarangire, to Ndutu, to Ngorongoro and to the Serengeti. Laura and her small team did a great job from the very beginning we decided to go to Tanzania. Each Lodge and the tented camps and the Shangri-La Coffee Farm in Karatu Laura choose for us were awesome and amazing and gave a fantastic impression of the incredible landscape of Africa, but also of the friendly people of Tansania. And we can't imagine a better driver and guide than Joseph. He is exploring the parks in Tansania for nearly 30 years, speaks perfect German. He knows every path and nearly every stone in the parks and every spot where you will see animals. Pole, Pole - Hakuna Matata- Joseph - always friendly and smiling - took the time to watch out for animals - the best way to go for a safari. No hurry. If you go - Amazing Tanzania is the best choice. Asanta sana - Thanks a lot. If we come back to Tansania - Amazing will be for sure again our choice.
