Outstanding, diligent, attention to detail , very personalized
5/5

We contacted several travel operators before deciding on Daylight Adventure & Safaris. We had unique travel plans because we wanted to have a couple days of sightseeing before a weeklong surgical mission trip. Daylight coordinated all our travel. They arranged our ground transport with sightseeing on the way to our hospital destination. They arranged walking tours, game drives and boat tours at Lake Naivasha and Lake Nakuru. Following our surgical mission they transported us to the airport for our flights to Nairobi. We had a wonderful experience at Amboseli. The diligent efforts of Misaro allowed us to spend a night at the giraffe manor which was an unforgettable experience. With 20 years of mission trips and excursions on 4 continents, I don’t think any of our prior encounters compared to this experience with Daylight Adventures & Safaris. We will return to Kenya and we will definitely book with Daylight Adventures

The kindest people, the most fun day, now my family
5/5

The team at Daylight made this trip so amazing, they started out as my tour operator team but we left as family. My whole day included Lake Naivasha, Crescent Island, and Hell’s Gate National Park. A jam-packed day also filled with local guides, local food, and local laughter. I will never forget the team at Daylight and recommend them immensely!

Nashukuru sana timu ya Daylight! Tuonane hivi karibuni!

They took care of all the details. We had great drivers named Edwin and Daniel. They were really knowledgable and definitely kept our safety in mind. We had so many amazing wildlife sightings! On our last day we wanted to change plans last minute and Misaro made it happen. She was also very dedicated to getting us in to stay at the Giraffe Manor which was the highlight of the trip!

Exceptional service and excellent customer service.
5/5

We had an exceptional experience with Misaro from Day Light Adventures. The service was highly personalized, and Misaro was incredibly patient, addressing all our needs and resolving any issues that arose. The itinerary they crafted was truly unforgettable. The guides provided were not only well-organized and polite but also impressively knowledgeable about the local culture and history. The accommodation exceeded our expectations and added to the overall amazing trip. It was an unforgettable experience, and we've already recommended Day Light Adventures to our friends!

A big shout out to our two guides, Rolland and Ken, and to Elvis, the best front-of-house man in Africa!

Thanks to Daylight Adventures & Safaris, especially Misaro Chweya. They organized the best safari for us. All our wishes were taken into account
The organization was at the highest level.
We traveled with children - 6, 7, 8 and 10 years old. The tour was selected very carefully.
No comments on the organization.
We will recommend you to all our friends and acquaintances.

Professional and personable operator who went out of their way to ensure we had a good time
5/5

We booked our Kenya leg of our Africa Safari through Daylight Safaris and overall our experience was extremely positive. During the planning and booking stage, Misaro was always quick to respond to emails and provide valuable advice for our small group booking. She is so personable and took the time out to come and meet us at the giraffe centre in Karen. Our safari guide and driver, Steve was so knowledgeable and made our time visiting the Nairobi National park, the Sheldrick elephant orphanage and Amboselli game reserve an unforgettable experience. If we do a longer trip to Kenya, I wouldn’t hesitate booking through Daylight again. It’s always great to be able to support a local Kenya operator.

We will come again
5/5

This was our first trip to Africa, and when we started planning, we knew nothing about it. In fact, I only started planning the trip in early September for our October itinerary. Initially, I contacted six companies on SafariBooking, but some responded slowly, and some of their itineraries didn’t match our desired destinations. However, Daylight was different—Misaro communicated with me through dozens of emails, patiently helping me plan and adjust the itinerary. Misaro explained the pros and cons of various plans, responded quickly, and worked with me to make prompt modifications to any questionable plans. She helped me finalize many customized details, which made me feel very reassured before the trip.

The highlight of our trip was Henry, our guide. He was professional, responsible, and an excellent driver. Both my mother and child really liked him. I believe these qualities are at the core of what makes a guide competitive. At one point, we were just one meter away from a hippo! If it weren’t for Henry’s careful driving and keen observational skills, we wouldn’t have been able to experience something like that. Our family has already agreed that whenever we return to Kenya, we will request Henry as our guide.

The only regret is that I lost half of the photos due to my own mistake, but this also gives us more motivation to visit Kenya again!

Amazing, super knowledgeable and fun
5/5

I had an amazing time with safari booked with Daylight.
I reached out to Misaro in august and she was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
I was pretty last minute and wanted to go within 6 weeks. (Also wanted to go solo with a private driver)
Every question I had she answered and made the whole thing so easy.
She also coordinated a ride from the airport to my hotel and made sure everything was great.

I started out with a 5 day safari and bumped it up to 7. Again she was very accommodating.

My destinations were Samburu, Lake Nakuru and the famous Masai Mara.
First day I seen my bucket list item. Which was to see a cheetah run. And OMG it was amazing.
By day 2 we have seen 4 of the big five. (Only missing the rhino) SO many lions, cheetahs leopards etc.
(I personally don’t believe leopards are rare because I had sightings on 6 out of 7 days sometimes multiple times a day)
My driver Moses was amazing at positioning me to see the animals and his knowledge was awesome. Also became my assistant. He would record video on my phone as I was shooting photos on my camera.
Can’t forget to mention Elvis! He was the life of the party and Wish I had more time to hang out with him.

I definitely plan on going back to see more destinations.

I would rank my destinations as
1) Masai mara, gorgeous landscape and the animals were so photogenic.
2)Samburu. The animals had more “character” you can tell the animals fought more.
3)lake Nakuru was a spot I would skip. Yes they have rhinos but I was personally after big cats. But if you want to see birds you have to go there.

Kenyan Safari with Hiking
5/5

Kenyan Safari (with hiking)

Just had a nice itinerary in Kenya, and thought I’d share it. The focus of this itinerary is “if you enjoy hiking, and are afraid safaris being 6-10 hours of car time for a week straight”. Safaris are amazing, and also similar to a cruise… lots of delicious buffets, lots of lounging time, if you’re not careful, you’ll put on some pounds.

Day 1: Late arrival in Nairobi
D2-3: tour company drove me to ol pajeta. I highly recommend Ol Pajeta and the rhino sanctuary to see the last two northern white rhinos. I also strongly recommend the Maisha Sweetwaters camp for your stay.
D4: broke up the safari with a day hike of Mount Kenya. Most of the information you’ll find on Mount Kenya calls for a 3 or 5 day hike. If you want to make it to the highest hike-able peak, or if you want to climb to the tallest peak, you will need at least one overnight camp, but if you’re used to higher elevations (ie hike the Rockies, alps, Andes) you’ll be fine to make it up a lot of the mountain with a day trip. I made it to the second day camp site (25km and 1200m very change, peak 4200m), which was a lot, but worth it. I stayed in ol pajeta that night. If you are a strong hiker, and start early in the morning, and get a strong guide, you might be able to hike to the top in one day, but I’ve never hiked above 4,500m, so I don’t know how much it slows you down.
D5: flew to Masai Mara and did a game drive. The tour company offered to drive me from ol pajeta to lake naivasha and then to Masai Mara. This would save money. But I thought the bush plane experience was fun, and it cuts 5-10 hours of total car time out.
D6-7: game drives. Used the pool as my exercise.
D8-9: went to lake naivasha area to break up the drive from Masai Mara to Nairobi. Biked and hiked around hells gate and Mt Longonot. Highly recommend Mt Longonot as a hike.
D10: boat safari and walking safari at lake naivasha. Stop at Nairobi national museum to kill time before getting on the plane.

Overall: Really cool trip, got to see the Big 5 along with other animals. Got to see a lot of predators going after prey. Trip was last week of May, which was perfect weather. Food was delicious everywhere. I made it a solo trip. It costs some money, but it’s a cool bucket list type trip. Highly recommend.

One adjustment to consider if you want more hiking (not sure if this is a common consideration haha): I wish I could’ve fit in aberdare national park for some good hiking. Maybe one less day of safari, and instead of flying to Masai Mara, drive to Abedare as the half way point. It would be a lot of driving, but could be cool.

For tour company, I used daylight adventures. They did a great job working with me (I booked everything two weeks before the trip, so very short notice). Michael and Ken were my safari guides, both amazing. Joseph and Joshua were my hiking guides at Mt Kenya and Mt Longonot respectively, both were great. They’re very flexible and helpful if you want to make adjustments on the fly.
