A wonderful private and well organised safari
We had the great pleasure of having a custom private safari organised by Felix oƒ Kilipath safari for 4 weeks over christmas and new year. If you have particular aspect you want included, Felix will do his best to get it incorporated into your safari. We had a wonderful time and were lucky enough to see all of the big five. Some of the wildlife get very very close to the Land Cruiser. Our drivers were very knowledgeable, not only about the wildlife but general information aswell.
The hotel/lodge’s and camps were all very good our best three were Suricate Boma Lodge, Ngorongoro Manrera Lodge and in Zanzibar the Tembo House Hotel. A minor issue was a tyre puncture, not that unusual considering some of the terrain we went over. During the game drives we had a packed lunch which included a good variety of food ( just watch out for the monkeys that also want your lunch). We also had an early morning balloon ride. An absolutely wonderful experience which gave a unique aspect on viewing the wild life. I would recommend Kilipath Safari.

Efficient and adapted the itinerary to our needs.
Amazing range of animals and birds seen on this safari made all the more wonderful by our excellent tour guide/driver (Christian). Our tour guide/driver was knowledgeable, safe and reliable. He met our requirements in terms of what animals we hoped to see and had excellent information on the animals.

Nice Tour for Safari Starters
The Safari was our first and well organized. The contact from killpath was always available and very kind. We booked The 3 day basic camping Trip. I enjoyed The crater much more since in serengeti by that time in October it's lots of dry grasland and it's more difficult to find the animals and its a long and tiring drive. When they are found, almost all cars gather around them, kinda like in a zoo. Because of that, I would do it again but around January or Feburary and with one more day in Serengeti to get more North. But we still saw lots of animals with a really good view and our driver was reallly nice! The camping was in total okay. The food was good and we had enough water for all. I would recommend bringing a pillow and own toilet paper with you since that was missing.

Enjoyable safari with good food & accommodation and a good guide!
Overall, we had a good time. Though on the first day before the safari started the Organisation had some struggles with picking up the guests. We had to wait for almost an hour for our pick up and it seems like the other guests had similar issues. Apart from that the Organisation and the whole safari worked out perfectly. We also got picked up from the airport and brought back to the airport 2 days after the end of the safari.
We stayed in mid-range lodges, which we enjoyed!

Adventurous
They make time for you to see all animals that comes along and taking pictures. I’ve seen all the big five, some at closer distance. Be prepared for a bumpy ride which is kinda fun but also a little dusty and the food they offer is very good.

Good experience, excellent Safari driver/guide
Good services by kilipath african safari.
We had a 3 days safari trip flying in and out from zanzibar. They arranged our flights as well, however if flying domestically you need to be careful with timing as there are many delays.
The communication prior to booking was excellent. Felix was really helpful, quick in replying, and explaing every detail.
Our safari driver-guide was Lu, and he was excellent!! You would be lucky to have him.
We spend 1 day in Tarangire national park, 1 day in Ngorongoro and 1 day in Materuni waterfalls and village. Great experiences all of the days, we got the chance to see all of the animals that we were expecting to see.
However, we had some inconveniences. The last day it was planned to have the trip with a different driver, and he was 40 min late to pick us up from the hotel. During these 40 min we couldn't rich out to anyone from the office. This delay cost us for the remaining time of the trip, as our sceduled (domestic) flight was also changed to 1 hour earlier. To that end, we were a bit in a rush during our Materuni visit.
Another unfortune remark is that even if it is mentioned in their website that the bank charge is 3,5% and that is the amount we were charged while paying (online) the 10% of the money upfront, when we started the safari and we payed the remaining amount (by credit card) they charged us 4% extra without really explaining why. The 4% was calculated and added in the payable price, not as an automatic charge by the bank in the transaction.
As a tip, ask to start from Arusha really early in the morning if going for safari to any of the national parks. We were picked the first day at 08:00 o'clock in the morning, but it would have worked much better if we were picked an hour or 2 earlier.
All in all, we had a great experience as our safari guide was really really good!

Posted on Oct 24, 2023We appreciate your feedback regarding your recent safari experience with Kilipath African Safari and would like to address your comments and concerns.
It's wonderful to hear that you had a great experience during your 3-day safari trip and that our safari driver-guide, Lu, made a positive impression. We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to him. It's always a pleasure to hear about the enjoyable experiences our clients have in Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro, and Materuni Waterfalls and Village, including the successful animal sightings.
Regarding the inconveniences you encountered during your trip, we apologize for the delay on the last day and the difficulty in reaching our office. We understand the importance of punctuality and clear communication and will work to ensure a smoother experience for future travelers.
we would like to address the point you raised in your initial message. We understand that you mentioned our machine incurring a 4% surcharge imposed by the government for card payments. It's great to clarify that this surcharge is not an additional fee charged by Kilipath African Safari, but rather a government-mandated fee. We offer multiple payment options to accommodate our clients' preferences, including card payment with the 4% government surcharge, payment via a provided link with a 3.5% surcharge, bank transfer, and cash payment.
Your feedback is essential in our ongoing commitment to providing the best possible services. We hope to have the opportunity to host you on another adventure in the future.

Family Safari Adventure
We had the pleasure to enjoy a 7 day long safari to the hot spots of Eastern Africa‘s wildlife. The tour organizer in this case was Kilipath. They are operating with guides and chefs ( cook) as we decided to go on a shared safari. We highly recommend Peter as the best driver and his lovely chef de cuisine David. David is the world class cook. We enjoyed fantastic fresh meals three times a day along the safari. The only part I would like to mention as a consideration in case you choose the budget package as we did, the Arusha Inn Hotel is a place I would not recommend to stay.

Amazing tour with awesome guide and cook
What an amazing safari! We had the time of our lives in the national parks, especially in Serengeti! Seeing basically every single animal living there and most of them up close and/or several times! Our guide Mudy was very knowledgeable, super helpful and had amazing insights, even showed us the migration of Wildebeests! Every single day was worth it and absolutely wonderful and magical! We also had very good food, big shoutout to Luca, our cook, who spent a lot of time preparing amazing food for all the days!
Also Kolpath safari helped us with taxi from and to the airport and hotel for free which was very nice!

Poor organization. Until the very last moment we did not have fixed schedules.
The timings were never clear. On the morning of the second safari we were given a time that was not respected at all; instead, we had to wait an extra hour for another group to finish breakfast.
On the first day, the jeep had several problems and only started when pushed — not exactly a great or reassuring way to begin a safari.
Until the last minute we didn’t know what time we were supposed to leave for the airport. They realized this far too late, threw us into another jeep, and we had to rush like crazy, arriving at the airport where they almost didn’t let us check in.
A nightmare. Stressful and very disrespectful, considering how much money we paid.
I strongly recommend turning to professional agencies instead.

Kilipath is a tour operator with terrible organization and logistics
I had a "4-Day Majestic Tarangire - Ngorongoro Crater - Serengeti" trip. I really enjoyed the safari, but it was the driver's doing.
From Kilipath my manager was Prisca and organization was awful.
I would say a lot of things went wrong after sending the prepayment:
1. They didn't send me information about the trip details until the night before the trip. The manager wanted to meet me, but I wasn't in Arusha that time. Then I needed to push her to say me the time of departure. And I received it only at 21:30. And it supposed to be 7:00. It's first when I got stressed.
2. Also that time they said that my tour company was changed to another company as they don't have place in the car (or something like this). That time I started to fell it's a scam.
In reality it was the third company, different one from they mentioned.
3. Next morning I was ready at 7:00, but there wasn't a car. I asked Prisca and she didn't give me anything specific. Only "let me call the driver". And 20 mins later "He is nearly". But in reality driver came at 8:00 and I was the first in the car (so the delay wasn't on other guys in the trip). It was really stressful.
4. The first night when we came to the camp it turned out there is no room for me. First they asked to wait until they finish cleaning the room. But then some other tourist came (from different car) and I was told there is no room in the hotel. They changed my hotel and I had to drive back and forth for dinner and breakfast. And it's all after the day-trip when you are exhausted. A lot of frustration.
5. They mixed our group. In different ways. First - they put in one car tourists with different accommodations. So the second night we were driving through 3 different camps and the same on the third morning (I was the last and the first in dropping and picking up). I saw others' cars - a lot of them were staying just in one camp.
6. Another way they mixed groups - one guy had 3-days tour. And he didn't have that experience that we had on the first day. So he was slowing our group as he needed more time for watching zebras, etc.
Also with us was a guy with a 5-days tour, but he didn't affect my experience.
So only the third night was good - all in one camp, no delays and other disappointments.
It was my real experience with the Kilipath and how things can be. Of course I complained, they sent a lot of sorryS, but it couldn't change my experience at all. And of course they have explanation to every my complain.

Posted on Sep 3, 2025Dear Pavel
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. We would like to provide some clarifications regarding the points you raised:
1. Pre-safari briefing – At Kilipath, it is our usual practice to meet clients upon arrival to provide a briefing and finalize payments. When I asked what time you would arrive in Arusha, you initially said 20:00. Later, you informed me that you would arrive between 21:00–22:00 and requested a briefing over the phone. At that time, I was driving and unable to chat immediately, so I asked to do the briefing one hour later, which you agreed to. When you texted again asking, “What time should I be ready tomorrow?” I parked safely to respond. Your messages confirming this are attached.
2. Joining another company’s vehicle – For shared safaris, it is a normal practice to combine clients from partner companies. This allows us to form a full group, as it is difficult to get 7 clients going on the same date for the same safari. I explained this to you, and after repeating the information, you confirmed your understanding.
3. Delay in pick-up – I informed the guest that he would be picked up promptly, but due to unexpected traffic, the guide was slightly delayed. This was unfortunate, but it was beyond our control.
4. Accommodation on the first night – Normally, if a client’s room is unavailable at a particular camp, we offer an alternative, often at Fig Tree 🌳. However, in this case, due to a reservation mistake, your room was not ready. I attempted to check with you to see how the safari was going, but I received no replies, so I could not resolve the issue sooner.
5. Mixing clients in shared safari – For shared safaris, clients book different types of accommodations, such as lodges or campsites. In such cases, it is necessary to organize pick-ups and drop-offs according to each client’s bookings. If you had booked a private safari, the driver would have followed only your instructions.
6. Other clients affecting the group – Each guest has the right to enjoy their safari at their own pace. A client with a shorter tour may take extra time to observe animals such as zebras, and this is normal. It is not a reason to affect other guests’ experiences, as everyone has paid for their own safari.
In conclusion, all arrangements followed our standard shared safari policies, and all situations were handled according to our procedures. We understand that the client was not fully satisfied, and it appears that his primary concern was requesting a refund. While we regret any inconvenience, we note that there were no serious issues with the safari itself.
At Kilipath, we always strive to provide clear communication, transparency, and a quality experience for all guests.
Warm regards,
Management
