Awesome experience!
5/5

We had an incredible 8-day safari exploring Amboseli, Naivasha, Nakuru, and Maasai Mara with Leopard Orchid Safaris. From the moment I booked with Michael, everything felt smooth and reassuring. He was highly responsive, patiently answered all my detailed questions, and offered a competitive quote that made planning easy and stress-free.
Despite our late arrival at Nairobi airport, we were warmly welcomed by Michael and James(the company director). On the morning our safari began, Michael, James, and our guide Lawrence met us at our hotel for a thorough briefing. Their professionalism and attention to detail immediately put us at ease, and we felt well cared for throughout the journey.
Our guide Lawrence was kind, knowledgeable, and accommodated everything we needed during the trip. Thanks to his expertise, we witnessed some truly once-in-a-lifetime wildlife moments: a pride of lions hunting, a dramatic river crossing of the Great Migration, and a cheetah feasting on its prey. Among the Big Five, we saw 28 lions, countless elephants and buffalos, and 2 rhinos. While we didn’t spot a leopard, we did see two cheetahs up close. Lawrence was very skilled at positioning the vehicle for us to get the best views possible, while always being mindful of other vehicles around us. He enriched our experience by teaching us about animal behavior, local culture, and Kenyan history. His careful driving, both on the road and during safari, made us feel safe every step of the way.
The lodges and camps selected by Leopard Orchid were comfortable and well located for maximizing our game drives. One morning, we even woke up to zebras grazing just outside our cabin.
Every day of this safari was memorable. We definitely recommend Leopard Orchid Safaris, especially with Lawrence as a guide.

From Wildlife Wonders to Birthday Cheers – Our Magical Journey with Leopard Orchid Safaris
5/5

We are a group of 20 from Malaysia, and after comparing several safari operators, we chose Leopard Orchid Safaris.
Like many others, we were initially concerned about safety in Kenya, but we’re happy to share that it’s safe and absolutely worth visiting!

We went on an 11-day safari, and while the experience was truly incredible, we personally felt that it was a bit too long—a slightly shorter trip might have been ideal. Still, every day was filled with fun, excitement, and unforgettable moments.

A big thank you to our wonderful driver and guides: Paul, Lawrence, and Patrick. During our game drives, they would often hint that “something special” was coming, which kept us excited and curious. Whether it was a rare animal sighting or a surprise moment in the wild, these experiences added a sense of magic and joy to our journey—and created a special bond between the drivers and all of us.

One particularly touching moment was when they surprised one of our group members with a birthday celebration. At Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, they arranged a special birthday cake and a traditional Maasai dance—a beautiful gesture that created unforgettable memories for her and for all of us.

We also truly appreciated the warm hospitality from James and Sally, who personally welcomed us on the first day and came to meet us again on the last day. Their thoughtfulness and care made us feel valued from start to finish.

Friendly driving guides, ensure our safety, good accommodation, worry free 11 days Kenya Bush Safari
5/5

We are from Malaysia.

Even before we started our journey, we feel apprehensive. We need to be vaccinated with yellow fever vaccines (health safety in Kenya?) and just a few days before our departure, we read the news about escalating Kenyan unrest in early July 2025. We were worried.

We listened to Sally's advice from Leopard Orchid Safaris. We came. Representatives received us at the airport. They ensured our safety. Bring us to local money changer to change our currency into Kenyan Shillings, act as our bodyguards. Imagine checking into hotels with secured fencing, xrayed your luggages before entering into the lobby and bomb sweeping our vehicles. We had good sleep throughout our stays.

As the days goes by, we felt safe and our friendly driving guides especially Paul gave us advises and ensured we had a good time. We got to see that we came here to see in front of our eyes. We saw the big five, the ugly five and other animals too.

We had a great time.

The trip is way beyond expectation! It is well organized and we felt very much taken care of. Our tour guide Fred is both accountable and considerate with long years of experience with Safari. All the hotels on the trip were well selected. View is excellent all seven days.

Highly recommended !
5/5

I felt so comfortable throughout the whole trip. Right after we landed, Mike, Elijah, and Sally from the travel agency warmly greeted each of us, which made us feel really welcomed. During the Nairobi city tour, Elijah patiently told us all about the city and was super friendly.

Our safari guide, Paul, was amazing. He’s the kind of guide who answers all your questions but never talks too much. Even with those long drives every day, I felt totally at ease. Whenever we spotted animals, he always tried to get us the best view and shared lots of interesting facts about them. He never rushed us or seemed impatient—he just waited while we enjoyed the moment and took as many photos as we wanted.

One thing that really touched me happened in the Maasai Mara. A driver ahead of us got stuck in the mud with passengers, and while other safari cars just drove past, Paul asked if we were okay with stopping. Then he got out to help, even though he ended up getting himself all muddy. He didn’t complain at all—he’s genuinely such a kind person. And when we shared some snacks with him, he enjoyed them so happily that it made us smile too.

I’d definitely recommend Paul and this team to anyone planning a trip to Kenya!

A truly unforgettable 6-day safari
5/5

From the start, Elijah was incredibly helpful and responsive. He took great care to tailor the trip to our needs, from working within our budget to accommodating lodge changes. His clear communication and flexibility made the whole planning process feel easy and reassuring.

But it was our guide Alex who truly made the trip extraordinary. From day one, he welcomed us with warmth and enthusiasm. Over the course of six days, he became so much more than a guide; he was a teacher, storyteller, and wonderful travel companion. He shared not only his deep knowledge of wildlife but also gave us insight into Kenyan culture, its people, and even taught (read, tried to teach) us a few words of Swahili.

He went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of every day adjusting the itinerary as we went to suit our pace, interests, and energy. His kindness, curiosity, and good humour made every moment feel meaningful. He brought so much heart to the experience, and we learned more than we ever expected. We feel incredibly lucky to have shared this journey with someone so passionate and generous.

Asante sana, Alex — you’re a kind soul and an amazing guide. We won’t forget you.

Alex, the best guide/driver and a wonderful experience
5/5

We had the most incredible experience with Leopard Orchid Safaris, and our driver and guide, Alex, truly made it unforgettable. From the very beginning, Alex was warm, attentive, funny and deeply knowledgeable. Over the course of six days, he taught us so much — not only about the wildlife, but also about Kenyan culture, history, and everyday life. He opened our eyes in ways we didn’t expect, and always went above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of every game drive, getting us as close as possible to the animals while keeping everyone safe and respectful of nature.
We have never encountered such kindness in our lives — Alex is truly a beautiful soul. His generosity, humility, and genuine care left a lasting impact on us. The goodbye was very emotional because we shared such a meaningful journey. We know we will never forget it — this will undoubtedly remain one of the most beautiful moments of our lives. We will always be grateful for everything he did.

The lodges selected by Leopard Orchid Safaris were also perfectly chosen — comfortable, welcoming, and well-located.

We recommend Leopard Orchid Safaris 100%, and Alex 200%. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your guide, you’re in for something truly special.

Patrick was was professional, knowledgeable, kind, and made sure we had a positive Safari.
5/5

Hello,
We had an incredible time on Safari in Amboseli and Kibo Safari Camp! We feel very fortunate that Patrick was our driver and guide.
Patrick was very kind and knowledgeable, warm and friendly and he has a great sense of humor. He answered all of our questions and he was knowledgeable about all of the animals and their habitat and the environment. Patrick was always concerned for our welfare and made sure that we were comfortable and happy. He understood our interests and priorities made sure that we saw as many animals as possible. He took time at different locations so we really enjoyed observing the animals, the Acacia Trees, the Savannah, Lake Amboseli and Mt. Kilimanjaro.
We had an amazing experience with a beautiful, happy elephant family that was very close to our vehicle. We were able to watch a young elephant wallow and play in the mud, a few week old baby nurse from it’s mother and than lie down and have a nap while the mother and aunties closely surrounded it to protect it. Then one young elephant came so close to the vehicle to eat leaves we could have literally reached out and touched it while we all quietly stood there in awe watching her.
Patrick spotted fat hippos in small ponds fed from the springs out in the Savannah. A tower of 11 giraffes eating in a lush green area quite a distance from the Acacia trees. The giraffes were beautiful and graceful and curious. And Patrick spotted a male lion that we initially thought was a a rock in the tall grass. But eventually the lion lifted his head and then slowly stood up and walked over to another lion that was most likely his younger brother hiding in the grass. We were able to watch these two majestic male lions watch the zebra and gazelle and then they walked straight toward us and right past us to go and cool down under the palm trees in the heat of the day.
Our experience in Amboseli was very fun, magical, special and spiritual. We did not want to leave. Patrick spotted a female lion and as we stood there in the Land Cruiser at the base of Kilimanjaro watching a beautiful lioness sitting in the tall grass the orange sun began to set sending orange and pink hues across the grasslands and turned the snow on the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro a light pink color. Our hearts were full of joy and everything seemed right in the world…at least in this beautiful animal kingdom in Amboseli.
Thank you Leopard Orchid and Patrick for giving us a perfect and beautiful safari experience.

With appreciation and gratitude,
Diane and Marianne
