They made the trip so easy and enjoyable!
Everything was perfectly organized. All of the guides and drivers were incredible, and the lodge was beautiful. Everyone was so helpful and communication was great. It was incredible to see all three countries in one visit, and I would book this trip again.

A fantastic all round experience
We did the 6-Day Hwange NP, Victoria Falls & Chobe NP package which was fantastic overall.
Our Zimbabwe driver, Simon (and his offsider), our Hwange safari guide, Bheki, and the Chobe safari guide, Figo, were all amazing as were practically all people who helped us along the way, those part of the tour and those who we met along the way.
The accommodation at Shongwe was a bit more basic than we're used to put certainly had great service and a very welcome pool and the cruise along the Chobe river was certainly more basic too...but once we got over the initial surprises, we had a great time. Thanks all!

Friendly, organised, helpful and gave us the best experience possible
Tour is extremely good value for money. We did many things, but never felt rushed and all the staff were professional, helpful and friendly. The tour is very well organised and we visited 4 countries with ease. I highly recommend the Cuckoo Safaris for an excellent experience. Our guides were Simon who provided excellent communication and co-ordination, Shojun and Martha for the Victoria Falls, and our game reserve driver Gift and our guide for the Impalila Island David. We learnt so much about the culture, local people, conservation and animals. Thank you Cuckoo Safaris for sharing your beautiful countries with us.

Hwange Day Trip
We enjoyed a terrific day venturing from Victoria Falls to Hwange national park.
Planning was handled very well from Tatenda. He was quick to respond to my various questions and provided thorough information. All our drivers and guides were terrific and we especially loved “Big M” our guide through the park. His infectious enthusiasm kept us engaged plus he is an expert at finding game with his “bush eyes”.

Absolutely incredible
The best Vic Falls tour operator. Incredible service from the start. A trustworthy company with valuable knowledge of the area offering amazing activities for the whole family. If you want a highly enjoyable trip with the best look no further than Tatenda and his
brilliant team. I will only book with them going forward knowing we are in safe hands. Ten stars !

Cuckoo is a professional tour operator that delivers a luxary experience at a competitive price
We found our 7 day trip with Cuckoo Safaris to be an incredible value. Traveling to this area is not cheap. However, Cuckoo gives you a very competitive price while also providing excellent service. Prior to traveling, Cuckoo answered all our questions in a very timely fashion. The trip itself was well organized. We visited Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, Hwange National Park, and Matobo National Park. Each park has it's own character and was a different experience from the previous spot. The hotels and lodges that we stayed at were excellent. Luxurious with great food. Finally, our guide Simon made sure that our trip went as smoothly as possible He was in constant commnication with us via WhatsApp and was able to accomodate all of our last minute whims while still keeping us on schedule. All in all, I would definately recommend Cuckoo Safaris to anyone who wants an individual tour at a reasonable price.

Quick & accurate responses; helpful
My driver, Manda, was waiting as soon as I stepped off the plane & the adventure began! Light snacks on the Zambezi River to see warthogs, crocodiles, hippos, exotic birds, an amazing sunset & to be on a river that connects 4 countries was incredible! The next morning after breakfast, we were off to see Mosi oa Tunya (The Falls). We saw the Zambia & Zimbabwean side. Our tour guides Martha & Prudence walked us through the rainforest, we saw gorges, baboons, beautiful trees & the sound of the falls was amazing! There were rainbows & incredible photo-ops. We had lunch at Lookout Cafe, what a beautiful restaurant with delicious food & top notch service. We took a helicopter ride over the falls, which was breathtaking. We also made a quick stop at Big Tree. The next day was Chobe, Botswana. We started with a boat ride on the river. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable about the animals! I learned a lot. After a fabulous buffet, at an all you can eat lunch, we were off to the land safari. Our guide, Mr.O, got us very close to the animals (which is what we wanted). What an extraordinary day! The next day we got to sleep in a little. Pick up time was 10am. We stopped at a local store to buy food & school supplies for the visit to the cultural village. It wasn’t mandatory, but I love to help people. The village chief & his wife were so hospitable & thankful for the items. The chief gave us an in-depth tour & explained how life works. My highlight was visiting the school they opened & meeting the lovely teachers & adorable children. After the village tour, we stopped in town for lunch, coffee & shopping. We then went to the hotel to relax a little & at 7pm we were off to Boma to have fun, dance, eat, play the drums & just enjoy! The next morning was time to say goodbye to beautiful Africa, but we enjoyed every minute. Believe it or not, I left out some details. There was so much to see & do! The only thing I would change would be to upgrade my room at the hotel. But the staff was so welcoming & helpful & the grounds were tropical & well maintained. If you can’t tell yet, you should book this trip!

Simon was great!
I found cuckoo safaris during my research when starting to plan this trip. They were super responsive and accommodating to making changes in the itinerary that we wanted. I think it’s important to know that cuckoo is not with you the entire time they have partners in different countries such as Botswana. I had no idea that we would be passed off to some other company so it was a bit nerve racking when you are not familiar with the country. We were with cuckoo for 6 nights and 7 days and here are our pros and cons. Pros: everyone is on time for pick ups and drops off, the variety of activities provided is a great mix, AC vehicles for long drives or transfers, bottled water is supplied daily, the price was within our budget compared to different operators, the game drives are very long days but you get to see all the animals which is a very unique experience. Cons: all the hotels except the one we stayed at in Victoria falls were just okay (even with researching prior they were rated 4 and up on Google but just didn’t really fit/meet our expectations) good thing is you can ask for a higher tier, and biggest CON was the food was absolutely terrible. On long game drives they pack you a lunch but it’s a boiled egg, some deli sandwich and randoms snacks that have been sitting in a open door SUV from 5am in the morning not refrigerated or the drivers have food like rice and a meat just chilling in the trunk for long periods of time. You feel bad saying no thank you because these people are working incredible hard but I do not trust food that requires refrigeration at home to just be in the back seat of a car when it’s 100 degrees. I would highly advise bringing a bunch of protein bars, jerky and snacks to get you thru the day. Even at some hotels the breakfast buffets had under cooked eggs or meat or flies swarming a huge bowl of yogurt. I find it better to not have open food buffets in areas with lots of insects.
We did have a good experience and very glad we saw Zimbabwe and Botswana but with the amount of money you pay you would hope that there would be better food during long days. But unfortunately the food goes across the board for many tour operators as you see several different companies throughout your trip.

More than just a safari
My husband and I went on the 9 day safari tour through Victoria Falls and Botswana for our honeymoon. It was truly one of the best experiences of our lives and the best choice we could have made!
Starting from the beginning, Tatenda was extremely reliable and responded to all of my emails right away. He answered tons of my questions and helped me customize and add additional days on to the tour so we could make the tour just how we wanted.
Then to the tour itself, many of the other tours on safari bookings only include game drives, we chose this tour because it had a ton of variety and were so glad we did! Not only did we see a ton of animals and natural landscapes we also got a chance to do multiple boat rides, cultural experiences and a helicopter ride! Plus the hotels and food included were excellent! They even set up a special honeymoon poolside dinner for us as a surprise for free! Everything was prompt and reliable and they really went out of their way to do everything we wanted. We definitely got value for our money on this tour.
But now to the best part of our tour was our guide Simon! Simon was more than just a safari guide, he also became a friend and an ambassador to Africa as a whole. He went above and beyond to make us comfortable and explained not only the landscape but the history, culture, politics, and customs of all of Southern Africa. The warmth and humor of Africa totally shines through Simons personality and you can tell his passion for his job. We will remember this trip for the rest of our lives, thank you Tatenda, Simon, and Cuckoo Safaris!
