Perfectly planned
Recently returned from a 9 day trip to South Africa (April 2022) that covered game watching in Kruger, Wine tasting in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch and fabulous Cape Town and Cape Point. As a solo traveler with limited time, it was important to find a travel agent-who would work with me. Safety is always a part of my planning. Tanja (African Savanna Travel) covered all the bases and more. She put together an itinerary that included all my requests -at very short notice. Although I only overnighted in Joburg before catching my flight to Kruger, Tanja had arranged a local guide, Gavin, to meet me on my arrival and take me to my hotel. She also arranged all the internal transfers. She checked daily with my guides throughout the tour.
I wanted to include a couple of hikes/walks as well as a museum visit in Cape Town-She found the Ideal guide in Machiel-He is an avid hiker as well a lifelong resident of Cape Town. He was also my guide in the wine country tour. With his knowledge of the history of Cape Town, local food joints, the wineries, art and the Cape’s lovely flora and fauna and the best views, (and the best parking spots), he made my visit to Cape Town memorable

Great service for our group!
After many back and forth email communications to create the ultimate itinerary for our group we were very happy to finally get on our way. Our group of 30 was very pleased with service, accommodations and guide (Machiel) on our 7 day tour of South Africa. Tanja (African Savanna Travel) had everything organized smoothly- hotel check-ins were very smooth with keys already labeled for us on arrival- we rarely took more that 5 minutes to check in the whole group of 30. All of our activities were great and communication between Machiel and our destinations was constant so that we would waste no time on arrival. Machiel was continually in contact with our next stop to let them know our ETA and make changes on the fly. This made everything go very smoothly for us. On top of all the regular tasks, Machiel also assisted one of our group members to make travel plans for a family emergency that arose part way through the trip. Janet was able to rest easy knowing that Machiel was helping her make connections every step of the way - above and beyond. I would certainly use African Savanna Travel again for my touring needs.

Thanks to Africa Savanna Travel we had a very great time in South Africa.
We already planned a trip two years ago, but due to personal circumstances we had to cancel our holiday at that time. But it was a pleasure to keep in touch with Africa Savanna Travel and Tanja managed to arrange the same Safari lodge this year under nice conditions. It turned out to be a perfect location. Even so the other locations Africa Savanna Travel arranged for us were nice, proper and sweet. Also the communication with Africa Safari Travel was easy and accurate and very nice.
But most of all we appreciate the service and assistance we experienced during our trip. At one moment when we had some problems with our personal documents, Tanja immediately came to help us and solve the problem. It is very nice when you are travelling to know to have a ‘backup’ in a travel agency with so much compassion for their clients. It made us feel very relaxed.
We will recommend Africa Safari Travel to anybody who wants to go there. If we go there again, we surely contact Tanja.

Excellent trip, spot on arranged to our wishes
From the very first contact we have been treated perfectly. No question or change was asked to much. Answering always within 12 hours of my emails. And all the arrangements suited perfectly to our needs. We gave a budget, a timeframe, what we wanted to see and do and kind of atmosphere we were looking for. Savannah Travel proposed right from the start a great trip with a lot of up-scale bed and breakfast like accommodations that we would never have found ourselves. The schedule and the atmosphere of all the locations suited us very very well.
The recommendations for things to do we received from Savannah travel or the guesthouses, and which we followed were all excellent. We didn't come to spot the big five but to taste South Africa, its people, culture, nature, food and of course the wines. And we did all of that. we even saw 4 of the big five which was a nice 'extra'. It was a trip to remember forever and would recommend Tanja from Savannah Travel to everyone.

Uncomplicated, professional, effective and friendly!
After a bad experience with another safari tour provider a friend recommended african savanna travel. We contacted Tanja and she planed our stay very quickly and detailed. She always had a satisfying answer for our questions and she always answered the emails timely.
At our arrival she organized somebody to come to our hotel and explain us the tour and give us some advices. It was very helpful.
We enjoyed the two weeks in Namibia very much and there were no problems at all with the prebookings (as we heard from other tourists). Our highlights were the Kalahari Anib Camp Site and the Desert Breeze Lodge. Thank you very much! I will definitely recommend you and if I go back to africa I will use your services again.
