We saw amazing sceneries, from deserts to ocean, from savanna to mountains, insane wildlife including rhinos fighting, leopards and all the expected animals and more! The roads were excellent, the lodges had character and luxury and the price tags were very reasonable! Can't wait to go back!

The most diverse scenery that still looks untouched by humans.

Arranged the Trip through Great Explorations. (Outstanding) Flew to Windhoek and hired a 4x4 from Namibia 2 Go. Drove down to Sesriem in the South where the magnificent red dunes then Deadvlei where the trees are frozen in time from a million years ago when the river dried up. Temperatures in the upper 20's Took the Spreetshoogte Pass on route to Solitaire and witnessed the Moonscape like surroundings. A sight to behold. Drove to Swakopmund through canyons and incredible scenery. Roads are quite rough so we welcomed the 4x4. Recommend that you do the Living Desert Tour in Swakop which was so informative. Cooler weather here low 20's The Namibia desert is the oldest desert in the world and holds many secrets. Then drove through the Skeleton Coast on tar and salt roads on the way to Damaraland. Visiting Palmwag and Twyfelfontein. Much warmer here in the mid 30's. Again amazing scenery. Then into Etosha for 4 nights. Don't expect the same type of accommodation or first
Read more world service in the park. The roads were in terrible condition perhaps due to a lot of rain about 2 weeks prior. This impacted on the game viewing experience as there was little need for the game to seek water at the waterholes. The waterholes at the camp were a highlight for evening viewing and are recommended. Weather early 30's. Good birding which helped with the lack of animals.
It would be great if The government controlled park could do more maintenance. We spent 4 days driving through large areas of the park and didn't see one grader working on the roads. We would like to revisit Namibia and do the South where Luderitz is and also far North if possible. Would probably give Etosha a miss.

This was my second time to this beautiful country. The people, the place, and the stunning scenery are unmatched in my travels. You cannot go wrong with a visit through the variety of landscapes, cultures, flora and fauna!

A land of contrasts? Landscapes change as you move around the country.

We did a fly-in Safari, visiting Sossusvlei where the Sand Dunes and hot air ballooning were the highlights, then Swakopmund with a 4WD trip along the sand dunes to Sandwich Harbour. Next Damaraland to a gorge, cultural visit and bush paintings. Also spent an amazing day looking for rhinos and approaching them. Then Etosha, where at Andersons at Ongava we got to watch rhinos up close at the waterhole from the hide and the dining area. At Etosha National Park we saw Elephants, Springboks, Giraffe, Zebras, Oryx, Ground Squirrels and even Lions. Also saw a variety of birds. A wonderful visit!

Beautiful country with a great variety of landscapes and nice people. The country is clean, the roads are well maintained, the accommodation we stayed in was well kept and greatly designed, the food we ate was of good quality.

In two weeks we drove 4200 kilometers, and on each of them we experienced a great adventure. Kalahari, Fish River Canyon, Skeleton coast, Namib desert delighted with their difference from anything we have seen so far. The last days in Etosha and in the highlands allowed us to experience unique contact with animals, which was a new and revealing experience for us. Lilly from Great Explorations Namibia planned our route perfectly, and each of the hotels, lodges and guesthouses allowed for a unique rest in wonderful places with great service.

Namibia lacks the abundance of wildlife and classic African scenery of East Africa but certainly has its own charm, beauty and wildlife. In particular, Etosha's water holes have wildlife sittings that rival any in Africa. While in Namibia, we saw a number of rarities we missed in Kenya including cheetah, black rhinoceros, honey badger and bat-eared fox. I would recommend going to Kenya or Tanzania first to get the classic African safari experience but would highly recommend Namibia as a second or more African destination.

A ten day trip by scheduled light aircraft visiting Sossusvlei, Swakopmund, Damaraland and Etosha (south). To see the landscape from the air was awesome each leg taking about an hour. The accommodation, food and service were excellent throughout. It was the combination of wildlife viewing, scenery, people (both indigenous and other visitors) and culture which made the holiday so memorable. Visited in June : cloudless skies, pleasant temperatures, lack of crowds. Good value as well.
