Lots to see and experience. A lot of elephants, birds and even a hony badger.
Will visit again.

In all we've spent 7 weeks in this park and while we have seen most of the great game parks in Africa this one is still one of the best.

Kruger is a fantastic destination. It is well developed, but still very wild, and the facilities are good. The national park itself is fascinating, but there are also private reserves which are well worth the visit. I would go back any time!

A vast wildlife environment - do not think you can do it in less that 5 days and still enjoy it. We went in early winter, but the north still reached 35 degrees Celsius, where-as the southern end of the park got down to 12 degrees. It was a wet year, so spotting animals were sometimes difficult. Staying in the park (at a private lodge or in a camp - lookup "rondavel") is the best way to see the animals as late or early as possible. And relax, this is not a tour bus environment. You set the pace as you drive yourself around...

Exceeded my first safari expectations

It was my first safari ever, and it was just amazing. I did not expect to watch the wildlife such as near as I did. I was able to see the big five (leopards, lions, rhinos, elefants and buffalos), but also many others like giraffes, zebras, monkies, kudus, impalas, and a lot more whose name I cannot remember. I was amazed also about the variety and quantity of birds.
I overnighted in a luxury lodge, where everything was just perfect: the food, the acommodation, the staff, the safari drives, the bushwalks...
I am sure I will repeat this unforgettable experience in the future.

Kruger is the daddy of them all and although some bits are over visited there are many that are still simple, unspoiled and true to nature. The new park policies are making this a more frequent experience.

Kruger has its lovers and haters, but it is the most awesome self-drive wildlife destination due to its sheer size and variety. Though you do have to put up with lots of regulations, and plenty other road users. Not all of them mechanized...
